Went with the W/T 2015 based on lower final price paid and 100k powertrain warranty.

Price shopping? Most of the lower to mid range 2015s are sold.

So if options are your thing, go for a 2016.

auto roll down windows with the key fob as well... not sure this was on the 2015's... defiantly not 2014.

Auto mirrors fold/unfold with keyfob too

My 2015 does both of these.

For me the 100K Warranty was a BIG factor!

The powertrain warranty was an issue for me as well.

Hell the fog lights alone on the 16 almost out preform the headlights on the 15

No question about it, go with a 16. GM finally did a buyback on my 15 and I ended up with a 16. Though the truck may appear basically the same, there are many differences. They may be subtle, but add up to a much nicer truck in my opinion. Like those above said, the 16 headlights are very, very good. They could possibly be improved, but not by much. The Intellibeam feature is slick too. I didn't think much about it when the truck was purchased, but it makes the headlights just that much better. For 16, GM stopped the record feature (that nobody ever used) in the radio. They realized it was causing it to slow everything down. It is 10 times faster than the 15. Good luck with your decision.

Personally i think i like the 15 better. When I was trading in my 2014 they wanted me to get a 16 bad. The differences are subtle, and just that, subtle Imo, the head lights were not enough to sway me. Idk about you guys, but i thought that my 2015 head lights were the brightest head lights ive ever owned. I can see just fine with them just fine, however i am going to het HID bulbs because i like the white color, not because brightness is a problem. Also, i just don't like the 2016 front end... I feel as if it is trying to look like a sports car and it doesnt fit with the rest of the truck. Also it seems that the 8 speed transmission cant figure out what gear it wants to be in. The 2016 interior does have a few more bells and whistles. Im not a big tech guy, so i really could not care less about the wireless charging or the refined mylink system. Cars were made for over 100 years without that stuff, and its just more stuff to break in ten years and will become technologically obsolete in the next two years. (Look at how everyone is talking about how 2015s are already obsolete) the same thing will be said about the 2016, then the 2017, etc... Now, if you want choices, there probably aren't many 15s left to choose from. Just my .02.

You'll have more choices with the '16, that's for sure.

Issues that matter (to me):

1. Lighting and headlight performance. Everyone agrees the 14/15 Sierras suck in this area. It sounds like the Intellibeam is a nice option too. Just wish the headlights weren't so ugly, but that's subjective. The new LED tail lights look awesome.

2. Updated HMI. Speed increase, and CarPlay are both nice updates. Granted, you can add the HMI to a 14-15, but that's $1,000. Just get it in the new truck.

3. Driver assist package (if you're looking at that). I have the driver alert package, and it's nice for frontal warnings, but the auto brake feature on the '16's is a very nice safety option

Issues that don't matter (to me):

1. Transmission. Both the 6sp and 8sp suck. The 6sp just has two less chances to suck. If it weren't for the EPA, we'd all be loving our updated TH400's with overdrive.

2. Power locking tailgate. Easily added to a 14/15. Nice if it's included, but not a deal breaker.

3. Wireless charging. Only works on a very limited number of Android devices. And the location is TERRIBLE. I've already spilled coffee two times in that exact spot. A lot of it. Doubt it would still be functioning if I had it. Lol.

Probably the biggest factor though, is that a '16 is one year newer. It's worth more that an equally priced '15, once both are driven off the lot.

Good luck with your decision!

I was in the same boat as you when I was ready to purchase. The selling point for me was the powertrain warranty. I just so happen to get lucky and found a great deal on a '15 LTZ 1500 in the color I wanted so I figured it was meant to be. The headlights don't seem to bother and I will be upgrading them to HID as others have stated since I already have projector headlights. You might be able to score a smoking deal on a '15 since they are making room for the 16's.

If it is a Sierra, the 2016 headlights should make your decision as it seems many Sierra owners feel the 2014/15 lights are ineffective.

Other changes are surely nice but not as dramatic and aren't a safety concern that the lights might be.

Go with the 2016 if you can.

As for me I am happy with my 2015 Silverado's headlight performance, remote tailgate lock (mod,) roll down windows and folding mirror with fob, etc.
