Just ran my VIN on GMs website and my truck is part of the recall. They are not calling it a recall but a program (GM Program #:N150036). It says it is incomplete and to contact my local dealer.

Not sure what website your checking, but as far as GM's official website, "it" was a recall as of 2/17. Recall# 15036, and all the info is in there.

First, thanks SILVER SLED for the heads up! My VIN now shows up in MyChevrolet just as "tnchevy" stated. Contacted my dealer service manager. He had a hard time finding it because however he was looking for it, GM dropped one of the zeros. But he did run it with my VIN and found it with complete description including instructions to replace the trailer hitch and part number. Description is something like, "...over time...weld break...trailer could separate from vehicle..." Not good. My service manager is checking to see if they have it in stock or if they need to order and then we will go from there. It appears that I am the first to call. Will report back as this progresses.

For those of you who checked MyChevrolet or any of the other general release web sites, you might want to check again.

From what I understand, as of now, GM is going to send a certian amount of hitch asm's to dealers near the end of this month at the earliest, and from what I understand, they can not even be ordered until the 29th of Feb.

Sadly mine has it....

So is this a straight replace the hitch type of thing? Or "we'll look and see if there is anything that needs to be done" collect the time and send me down the road to fiery death?

Ran my vin on this site.

It is calling it a program and not a recall. If is a true recall then everyone effected should receive a letter in the mail about it.

That sight is wrong. But yes, I'm sure people will be getting letters soon enough.

Apparently, the ones the show the recall get the hitch, no pre inspection crap. Part# 19333098 for U.S, Canada and Mexico trucks. But I don't think they can be ordered until Feb 29th.

You are correct silver sled . I just called my dealership to set up a oil change and she said I have 2 recalls on my truck . One for the hitch and the other for the truck getting stuck in 4 wheel drive mode in cold weather ( there is a thread on that in here somewhere ). She said hitch wouldn't been in until March .

I have the same recalls on my '15 Sierra SLE. My dealer just received two hitches this week. Since I was the first to contact the dealer about this recall, my service manager reserved both for me. My '15 is going in on Tuesday and my '14 on Wednesday. I guess timing is everything.

Very interesting. My Service Manager just called to let me know that the parts listed in the recall are not available yet, but when the parts are available, they will order a batch of them and I will be first on the list. GM will replace the trailer "platform" and they want the original back. He also told me they have had two customers already show up expecting to have the recall done and were turned away pending the parts. I let him know that the GM Recall Center on my.chevrolet.com says this recall status is "incomplete" which is defined as "contact your Certified Service Dealer to schedule an appointment or order parts"...

My dealer is Henry Brown GMC in Gilbert, AZ.. Can't explain why, but they were shipped two hitches just last week. So they're available. Maybe your dealer(s) need to push a little harder on corporate.

Had mine in today for the dealer paid certified service and they notified me of open recalls, so mine goes in tomorrow morning for the two recalls; sticking in 4x4 when cold and trailer hitch.

Called my closest dealer today and they did not have the parts in but said they got a whole bunch coming in at one time since every truck they add the hitch option to every order. Told me to call back in early March to see if the parts were in. I asked what was meant by replacing the "platform" and he thought it meant they would replace the whole thing to where it mounts to the frame.
