Called my closest dealer today and they did not have the parts in but said they got a whole bunch coming in at one time since every they add the hitch option to every truck they order. Told me to call back in early March to see if the parts were in. I asked what was meant by replacing the "platform" and he thought it meant they would replace the whole thing to where it mounts to the frame.

That's what I was told regarding replacement of the "platform" and he said there is a core charge on each one so that there is an incentive to send the original "bad" unit back for review. I'm not in any hurry and I know they'll take care of me, so I'm just going to wait a few weeks and check back.

Same here, especially since I have not towed the first thing with my 2014 in the 1.5 years I have owned it!

I just checked my 2014 regular cab's VIN at my.gm.com and see that it's covered under the program.

What if you don't get have the Z82 option but you added the hitch when you bought the truck? Wouldn't a GM hitch installed after the purchase have the same problem?

What is the Z82 option? Is it the heavy duty trailering package and is it the only ones with the issue?

This has shown up in my Onstar in my email.. My truck just has the standard trialing package form the factory. It was part of the SLE Premium Package.

Z82 lists under my RPO codes (glove box silver label) as: Z82 - TRAILERING EQUIPMENT PKG

I don't know if you had a GM hitch installed added afterward, if that would be covered. Contact your dealer.

Towed my triaxle trailer(3000# mt) with a load of lumber and my hitch stayed together. Will take a look at it.

You most likely will not see anything according to the description my Service Manager read to me over the phone. It says something like, weld may crack after prolonged use (whatever that means). Seems pretty serious if they are replacing the hitch platform without inspection...

I don't have the Z82 package either, but the same GM # N150036 shows up for my truck. So that answered my own question as to why would it only be limited to the Z82 package.

Just called my dealer and I am getting hitch replaced on Thursday. It is a recall per what she told me.

Yes, it is a recall, #15036 (notice it is missing a zero from what is listed at my.chevrolet.com - #N150036). They must now be replacing all trailer hitch platforms, not just Z82?

My 2014 dbl cab z71 has the Z82 option listed and with a build date 7/18/14 and mine is not coming up affected on the my.chevrolet.com recall web site. Is this where you guys are finding yours listed? Has anyone determined if it spans only a certain period of time when manufactured or build location?
