Good Deal? 6.2 Denali

I am trading a 2015 SLT Crew with 19K miles and I found a dealer a couple hours away with a 2016 Denali with the 6.2. They are giving me $36K for my trade, which is $1,000 more than any of my local dealers. The new truck stickers for $58,800 and the dealer gave $10,912 off sticker plus I have $1,085 in GM card earnings and a $500 Farm Bureau discount. Wish I had a Private Offer to throw in there too.

This is the best deal I have been able to work without selling my truck out right (huge pain in the ass) and going out to Laura to buy a truck. Thinking about jumping on it. I would really like that 6.2.

What does everyone think? I know I have only had my 2015 for 13 months but I trade often. I don't keep them more than 18-24 months.

If you are not willing to sell the 15 yourself, that deal doesn't look too bad. The dealer is going to make a few bucks for sure, but they have to pay the light bill. Good luck!

Seems like a fair deal if you bought the SLT right. I get a new truck every year as well and they way I look at it if I can drive a new 50K truck for 500 a month or so I can live with that.

Of course stepping up to a denali is going to cost you more, but like posted above, you only live once.

I'd say if you can make the payment easily, go for it.

$49,000 for a 16 Denali with the 6.2

I'd say that's a great price !!

JMHO

It stickers for 58,800. Dealer came down to 47,800 and then I have 1,085 in GM card earnings and 500 farm bureau discount.

Truck had 177 miles on it. I think they took it to the Philly Auto Show. Wish it didn't have the few miles but for the price I really shouldn't be complaining.

Thanks for your input. I appreciate it.

Thats a very good deal, I would make that move. I just made a similar move out of a 2015 Sierra Crew to a Denali Yukon XL. The 6.2 8 speed is intoxicating and a major upgrade from the 5.3. Mileage was my concern and I am getting 1 mpg better in this truck!! Very impressed so far and I also did a long trip towing and it was a dream. I always found my self flooring the 5.3 and it shifted terribly. You have good numbers there and you will not regret it.

I feel like I am always flooring the 5.3 just to get it moving, especially when passing on the highway. I am looking forward to the increased power but was wondering just how much more fuel I will be using. Do you run 87 or 91 Octane? I have read on here in a few places that you have to run at least 91 in the 6.2. Thanks for your input and the information. I really appreciate it! I wanted to pick my truck up today but the family business doesn't allow me much time during the week so I had to put it off till Friday. Gotta love self employment!

I traded my 2015 SLT 5.3 for a 2016 SLT 6.2 with sunroof fully loaded $59K plus sticker. I paid $3500 plus my trade.

The numbers seem good. The 8 speed transmission really scares me though.

The price difference here in IL is $.40-$.45 cents per gallon. So the avg 20 gallon fill up you are looking at $8 extra. GM also recommends using top tier fuel in all of their vehicles.

Suppliers are listed at both http://www.toptiergas.com/ & http://www.gasbuddy.com/

There was a thread here recently about it that went on several pages.

Congrats on the new truck & post some photos up this weekend when you get it.

Yep always giving it more gas than I should have to which effected gas mileage. The 6 speed was never in the right gear causing me to downshift. The 6.2 and 8 speed pulls at lower rpms so it is just a better driving experience. The 8 speed is much better. I couldn't believe my mpg were better. I am sure its because I am not giving it more gas to get it to move!

Wow you got the deal to top all deals. My local dealers said they couldn't even come close to the deal I am getting on the Denali. The dealers in my area just don't seem to want to budge beyond whatever incentives GM is offering at the time. I was considering an SLT similar to the one I have and that was only $2k cheaper.
