I tried but it really was not distinguishable on camera.

Thanks for the video fondupot, your tip of removing the little plastic pieces was a huge help, the one with the adjuster would not lock in unless I took that one out and put in on before hand.

 

I love the look of them and the spread of the light is a huge improvement, cant wait till I get them aimed correctly. I used the same spacing the stock ones had but it seems to be aimed a little low, not sure how far out driving lights are supposed to go. Spacing on stock was about 3/8" from housing edge to the teeth of the plastic adjuster. Do I need to take the light out again to adjust it or can I use a screw driver from the back or hopefully something easier then the first method lol?

I marked the adjustment screw when I installed them so I think they are good for me but I though if I had to I would bend a cheap screwdriver to get the job done.

Bought mine back when they were released. I finally got around to installing today.

 

6 bolts hold in th bumper corner brace plus 3 bolts hold in the tubular brace which needs to be removed.

I took out the bottom 5 rorx screws that hold in the wheel well carpet.

 

The corner brace does come out but is a bit of a puzzle. Free the top tab in the corner of the bumper. Then slide the outside corner back toward the tire.

 

I also turned the wheels to the left to give some more room for the drivers side and right fo passenger side.

 

Watch the YouTube video to disassemble the corner brace and replace the fog light itself.

 

Took about 2 hours, 1.5 hours for the first and less than 0.5 hours for the second.

 

I ran the truck up on 3" race ramps to keep the air dam front digging into my chest when I moved around.

Thanks for posting this. I stuck my head under the bumper this morning to plan my attack on the fog lights housings as I wasn't the least bit interested in taking off the bumper. That's the plan I came up with and I was glad to read someone else had succeeded with this route.

 

The T15 Torx screws in the fender liner make everything easy peasy, just really pay attention to the way the whole assembly comes/falls out from that spot. I fought with the passenger side for 15 minutes getting it in there. Gave up and took out the drivers side paying more attention this time. Once I had the drivers side out I was able to wiggle the passenger side in within a matter of 30 seconds.

 

That fog light housing though.... jeesh someone spent way to much time on making that thing so damn complicated.

I jumped in in the 3rd group buy, received my lights 3pm today, likely would have been Friday but its was long weekend.

 

Anyways, they are in and thanks to a few helpful pointers from this thread it took me about an hour 15 minutes to get them in.

 

Still the middle of the day but they definitely light up the shop better than any of the other lights I've had in there. Worst being the Diode Dynamics, then stock, then Putco's blue Halogen bulb. These give me hope LED lighting may be able to tangle with HID's at some point.

 

Headlights are 4500k DS2 and the fogs I believe are 5500k. I'm still not sure why LED's only come 5-6000k for automotive. Anyways this is the best "color" difference I could capture with the phone camera.

I read through this thread and didn't see much mention of how you all found the fog lights to perform.

 

How was the lighting output improvement over stock fog bulbs and housings? Does the XB fog project further out and wider?

 

Anyone able to comment how the XB fogs compare to say Putco or Vanquish Auto(they appear to have 80W LED fogs).

 

Any input you can share would be appreciated. Thanks
