MY FIRST TRUCK /introduction

What's up everyone picked my first pick up truck I've ever owned a few week ago. So far I've finished up the tints, blacked out chrome and installed a 2inch RC LEVELING KIT.

Also took off the lower valence

Love this vehicle and next move will be either Airaid or k&n intake with an exhaust .

Here is a time line of photos from day I picked her up to how she sits now

Might make some chrome outline around the gmc logo on the grille to give a little color. Leave the letters black.

Did you plastidip or wrap it in vinyl?

Just Plasti dip..this is how it sits now I took dip off logo to break it up. I am thinking the trex grill because I don't like chrome but I'm not to eager to cut out my OEM grill in case I ever wanna go back to stock ...

Here it is now

Nice truck. Welcome to the gm truck family.

Was talking to an older coworker about blacked out vehicles awhile back and his say on that was "back in the day black meant you couldn't afford chrome". I don't think this applies anymore because most of it we see on trucks is plastic (grille, mirror caps, handles, even some wheels) and painted trims makes most truck look good.

Nice...!!!

My 2015 was my first truck too. I was happy with everything after purchase except for the super quiet sound.

Once I added an Airaid MIT and a GM-Borla Touring Exhaust, I was happy.

Thanks!

Yeah I am on fence about k&n or if Airaid CAI is worth extra couple hundred...def settled in on a Gibson exhaust from cat back though. So embarrassing driving a truck that sounds like a Prius haha

I didn't know GMC made a base model Z71, honestly that is what it looks like with the black grille and bumpers. To each their own, it is your truck and all that matters is if you like it.

Big fan of the dark blue though.

Yeah, that is pretty horrible... someone on the street might not know he has more options than a base model truck! FOR SHAME!

I think it looks good personally. I like making it different. I would second the poster above who said black the red part of the emblem and leave the chrome outside to make it stand out more. I have mine that way and like it.

haha yes indeed if I cared enough about what others thought I may or may not have for options I would have just got a Denali or an AUDI lol.

I am still torn between the chrome vs blacked out look. The pictures do NOT do the look justice as it does look better in person but every time I see another sierra driving by part of me is like hmm that chrome doesn't look too shabby.

luckily its just plasti-dip so maybe one of these weekends ill go back to OEM chrome.... eventually I want that t-rex billet grill but I don't really want to cut out my OEM grill in case I want to go back which that install requires.
