2016 GMC Sierra Denali lacking options/equipment?

Oh cool that you bring that up. My wireless charging worked once or twice in my life.. On a Galaxy S7 and tried a bunch of Galaxy S6's and all support wireless charging with no accessory required. It's garbage IMO. Also doesn't work if you have a USB plugged in..

Then yours is broken, I have a USB drive plugged in all the time and my AT&T S6 active charges just fine on the wireless pad.

you all need to remember, the more "features" you add on the more things there are to break down the road, you are adding on more and more modules to run those extra features. I don't car about push button start, I've had it on 4 cars now and also had several cars with a key. Doesn't make any difference to me at all either way. Do I wish the truck has rear AC vents, sure but once again not a big deal as the AC puts out more than enough airflow on high to cool the rear seats down if needed.

Those whimsical features are what each brand uses to lure people away from another brand, pretty much just smoke and mirrors. GM nailed it with the new K2xx trucks, their engines hands down are better than everyone elses, they get better gas mileage without the need of complex turbo systems that Ford still has not ironed all of the issues out of.

The only thing I wish GM would do is use a more aggressive powertrain calibration or at least offer a sport mode so that when you want better throttle response and crisper/faster shifting from the vehicle that you would at least have it as an option.

I love my new truck but I was s bit shocked no rear vents. Again I'm never in the back so I don't care.

Rear vents make a big difference back there down here in Texas. And the Ecoboost..don't get me started. Lots and lots of power down low where you need it and very smooth. It has a noise enhancement system it's so quiet. I disabled mine.

Great powertrain, IMO.

The Sierra or the Silverado both have the F-150 beat in looks, whether it is from the front end to the side profile or even the back of these trucks. Of course this is my opinion. Ford overprices something that they source half of their parts from their lower end cars. Their quality is not there compared to the Sierra. Also have you heard the Sony compared to the Bose? Sony is pathetic.. so weak and you can speak over it. The Bose in the GM trucks is so rich in bass and clarity, it's one of the best sounding systems I've ever heard.

The Rockford 12 speaker system in the Titan XD is amazing too.

The powertrain calibration is fairly nice for a pickup. Throttle response can be slightly numb at times but there is a kick down button when you mash the throttle to give you a nice downshift. Cool thing to have.

Sorry, the powertrain calibration is garbage and has been since the late years of the 4spd auto and 6spd auto came into play. The neutered power delivery, the long delay in shifting and a plethora of other gripes. I knew it was bad, but it became brutally obvious when we picked up our 2016 Audi SQ5. 360hp, AWD and 4300lbs. So not a sport car at all, under normal mode the shifts are smooth and quick, not neck breaking by any means. Throttle input is dulled some, but if you step on it the throttle responds quickly and the shifts are relatively quick.

Put it in "sport mode" and the throttle is wired to your brain in its feel, the shifts are lightning quick and firm. Audi also holds the gear longer anytime the steering is turned so to not shift in the turn until the steering straightens out. I was speaking to a co-worker who sold his 2014 Denalli for a 2016 F-150 Platinum with the 5.0. Ford now offers a sport mode on their trucks and it works just like the Audi way, normal driving when just putting around, put it in sport mode and the response to throttle and shifting changes drastically.

On my 2016 all I have done so far is just cut the shift times down in half for the upshift and downshift and it made it a whole nother driving experience now, no more delay at all. I could still play with the tune some on the part throttle shifting map to fine tune it and I may do that later this year when I have time but for now it drives perfect for me.

This is really not a matter of opinion, it's a fact. The input from your right foot to the throttle plate is intentionally slowed down by GM. You're talking about throttle sensitivity. It's fine if you don't notice it, but I think you would have an "ah ha" moment if it wasn't there.

Also, the american automakers are not behind the germans by any means. I highly encourage you to drive any american vehicle designed post bailout, and then go drive it's german competition.

From a stop in the 5.3L it may be noticeable, but once you reach WOT, the 8-speed flashes through gears. It shifts amazingly fast when pressed. And I know for a fact that in my 6.2L that there is more power than the tires can handle from a stop. I can even chirp the tires in second on dry pavement.

I wasn't happy with the 5.3L/6s combo in my 2014 Denali, but I have zero complaints with the 6.2L/8s in my 2015.

Great powertrain, IMO.

No they don't; I live down here, never a complaint and I am usually the one that drives. The front air vents move more air to the back than what trickles out of the rear console vents, they are effective at cooling your knee though (same with all the rear vent vehicles I have been in from Nissan to Jeep and Ford, ect.). It would need another blower motor like the SUV's have in order to be effective, it is all a mental seeing those vents. Air comes out in such a small amount it doesn't make it to the face where most people want to feel it, especially when turned down after the cab has cooled. All it does it take away cool air from the front vents and warms it up and loses efficiency with how far it has to travel to make it to those rear vents. I bet if you put a temp sensor on a persons head back there and cranked up the AC in GM trucks and the competitors it would cool just as quickly if not better not having those rear vents robbing efficiency. They did a ton of testing, it is plenty sufficient no doubt. The only reason people are complaining is because it is perceived as a luxury, a less effective luxury but a luxury no doubt.

This is exactly how I feel, this is a beautiful truck and I love it but how the hell did they leave out some of these options. I have the Denali Ultimate and it is awesome but really "Ultimate" is a joke. A 60k truck should have these items.

Keyless Start?

Auto-Windows? (This pisses me off, its embarrassing, I have even left the passenger window open before)

Blind Spot Monitoring?

Auto Wipers.

Anything for the rear seat passengers? Air Vents? Climate Control? Heated Seats?

Think of it this way, they don't offer a Cadillac truck so this is their very top trim and it doesn't have basic options on a Nissan Altima.

This is not reinventing the wheel, these are features they already have on their vehicles.

Yep, my kids get cold in the back in no time. Front vents are plenty capable. Rear vents aren't required, but people seem to think they want them. Makes no difference to me.

Yes I am complaining "just to complain" that is exactly what this post is about. I bought the truck after looking at all the others so yes I get it. I know what I bought. I personally think they can do better and I am glad I am not the only one.
