2016 GMC Sierra Denali lacking options/equipment?

I would buy and install a "Push to Start" switch if there was one offered - anyone seen one for the Sierra dash?

I am coming from an '11 Yukon Denali.

didn't care about the heated rear seats but it had them

Blind spot is nice on the highway when idiots hide there

I won't go on, but this was an '11 and it had a bunch of stuff like that

Shopping for the replacement, I got an SLT loaded. other than Magnetic ride everything a base Denali has including enhanced driver alert. for significantly less money

And you can't get max tow (NHT) on a Denali

I agree the Sierra Denali is under contented for the money they charge, especially when the content is in the SUV

A Sierra Denali also costs what, $10K less than the SUV counterpart? Perhaps they are trying to keep the MSRP in line with the other truck manufacturers for some reason.

The reason you can get more options in a similarly priced Ram or F150 is because the saved money in other parts, like drive train or motor etc. I've owned 2 Dodge's and will never own one again. What a piece of cheap crap. When I worked as a mechanic, I made sure to work at a Ford dealer because I knew I would always have work.

No they don't; I live down here, never a complaint and I am usually the one that drives. The front air vents move more air to the back than what trickles out of the rear console vents, they are effective at cooling your knee though (same with all the rear vent vehicles I have been in from Nissan to Jeep and Ford, ect.). It would need another blower motor like the SUV's have in order to be effective, it is all a mental seeing those vents. Air comes out in such a small amount it doesn't make it to the face where most people want to feel it, especially when turned down after the cab has cooled. All it does it take away cool air from the front vents and warms it up and loses efficiency with how far it has to travel to make it to those rear vents. I bet if you put a temp sensor on a persons head back there and cranked up the AC in GM trucks and the competitors it would cool just as quickly if not better not having those rear vents robbing efficiency. They did a ton of testing, it is plenty sufficient no doubt. The only reason people are complaining is because it is perceived as a luxury, a less effective luxury but a luxury no doubt.

my sister just bought a new MIni 4 door. Nice little car and it has damn rear vents. lol...yes it bugs the hell out of me. and the keyless entry thing would be awesome. Wife loves her new 16 Yukon SLT . the keyless thing basically lets you keep key in your pocket the entire time.

The push button start and 360 cameras can be added. A bit pricey for the camera set up. Those are two options that would be kinda cool, and the blind spot alerts. Truck drives fine wothout and I won't lose sleep.

Those are considered driving aids. Not replacements. Just like a radar or chart plotter on a boat, still need to look out the window. But they're nice to have. Ever drove a boat up a channel at night in the fog?? That chartplotter is nice, but I promise, you'll still look out the window even though you don't have to and can't see anything anyway. Just there for assistance. All the crying about people will be shittier drivers because of them are lost. People can't drive now. Too busy texting.

GM will add those features in a year or two...why not now?? Why would you buy a new truck in two years if your current one has everything you want? Sell them something just good enough, then add the features a few at a time to get people trading in on a new one every couple years.

You might want to read the options you can get a max tow in a danali and for and slt specked out the same as a Denali that I ordered there was 2500 difference in msrp

sure can but only with the 5.3 not the 6.2

You could get Max Tow in the Denali originally. I think that they removed it when they switched to MRC. If you get the 6.2L, you still get the larger rear end and axles used on NHT. The A8 has great gearing and matches or beats the 5.3L/A6 NHT ratios. The OEM tow mirrors can be easily added after the fact. So what's missing besides the 3.42 gears when you get the 6.2L (which btw has ~75 more HP and ~100 more TQ)?

If it's that big of a deal get a 2500 Denali.

Sorry, gonna disagree. No way you wil be able to swap over to push to start. First off, technology wise the parts list would be way more than anyone would be willing to pay, new door handles, fobs, proximity sensors and so on. Then 2 new fobs and keys, then parts inside of the truck like a new steering column and also trying to incorporate the switch into a dash no designed for it. Oh, don't forget the IP/dash wiring harness that isn't even setup for push button start.

Then factor in the calibration change, the BCM and any other modules. Those will never be able to be programmed at via the dealership, while the BCM can be programmed it isn't easy and that doesn't adderss the sub systems and or other modules that only the dealer can address.

i got exactly what I wanted......

2017 6.2, 3.42 gear, tow mirrors, extra cooling, more GVW capacity, all makes a great tow vehicle.

Equipped with the important (to me) stuff.....cooled seats, sunroof, enhance driver alert(intelli beam lights work great)

In a package that is a pleasure to drive when not towing and gets great mileage. (versus a 2500 6.0)

If GM would put the 6.2 in a 2500 I might consider it

Well, some shop online claims they can add the push button start. Less than $400. It's not the same parts from the suv. Not saying it's a good system, or that it works well, just that it is in fact out there. I'm not adding it even though I like the push button start. I also wouldn't go through a lot of time and energy others on the forum go through to add options that didn't come with their truck originally. Aside from tint, mine will stay the same as it did when it left the assembly line. Use google, it's your friend.
