I just picked up a 15 high country 6.2 8speed with 8k on it. It has the vibration at 75-80 mph and a rough 1-2 shift at times. Soo torque converter or whole transmission?? And how can i see if it's recalled? Thanks in advance!!

Or the stator as I had done to mine. It's a lot more common than them giving you a new transmission.

Yep... Mines fine... But it never really bothered me in the first place lol. Maybe you should have read the forum before you bought the truck rather than after the fact... Mind you I really don't take the moaning and complaining on this particular forum too seriously.

You can do all the research and checking you want on something to purchase and still get short handed it happens. I feel for the dude!

Dropped mine off at the Dealer Saturday afternoon so it could sit and be as it typically is when it malfunctions. I showed up at the dealer at 8 this morning, jumped in with the lead trans tech and the dang thing worked perfectly. Just my luck...

So they're gonna keep it for a couple days and the trans tech is gonna try it once in the morning and once in the afternoon to see if it acts up, but I'll bet folding cash it won't.

So I'm just gonna fall back on the service managers advice. "You have a 5 year/100,000 mile warranty. If it blows up give us a call."

The heck with it...

I dropped mine off today. They have to get a number off before they can order the parts. I'm in a Cruze so I hope it doesn't take long. I need my truck!

Got my truck back this afternoon...

Radio: Fixed.

Vibrating safety seat: Fixed.

8 speed transmission: According to the dealer, STILL not broken. :bs:

I give up...

Usually with my dealer if it is something they can figure out and if they have to order parts I just pick my truck back up, wait for the parts to come in and schedule with them to drop it back off and have them knock the job out in one day on the next trip versus being without my truck for an extended amount of time. Keeps my truck in better condition, it is sitting outside on their lot in the weather getting hailed on, or broken into, or door dinged.

One of main reasons my I'm not getting truck looked at now is its summer.....I need it to pull trailer, haul bikes.....truck stuff.

I refuse to have it sit at dealer for a week or two at this time.

And getting a loaner truck is never a guarantee.

So I wait till December....no hunting then either

Mine goes in this Saturday for the radio acting up and to have them look at the 8 speed for, I think, the fourth time. Mine has always had the harsh 1-2 up-shift, but it only does it the first up-shift of the day, then not again until it sits for a long period of at least 5-6 hours. Because I drive it down there, they can never duplicate the problem, but this time I'm dropping it off Saturday afternoon, and coming back at 8AM Monday and going out with the trans tech to show him.

Mine's exactly the same! And they've quit trying to help me now stating that it's driving characteristic for the truck!

Since I got mine back yesterday, its actually worse than it was before I dropped it off, but after re-reading the paperwork I discovered the tech put the computer into "Relearn" so now its starting from scratch.

OH AND YOU'LL LOVE THIS!

During my demo ride with the trans tech at the dealer I went to, I told the guy I do a lot of research in the forums here. His response was...

"Most of the guys on those sites are automotive hypochondriacs."

You know.. I see a lot of similarities of the issues folks are reporting with the 8-speed with what folks first encountered when the 6-Speed came out back in 07 on the new GMT-900s. interesting.

I was told by my dealer that I could not use the loaner truck to pull my trailer so you might want to check that out if you ever have to use one.
