1 Week old silverado major leak from back window

I wouldn't take it back, 100 miles... What I don't get it how long did it sit somewhere with the leak before you got it, they had to of known about it if it was sitting under cover. My problem is I have tons of trouble at 6k + so I can't just eat the 5-10k to trade it in. You should have lots of wiggle room with getting a different truck for sure.

Jesh man, you cant act like you are the only customer the dealer has and or that has bought a truck. If the dealer is backed up, they are backed up. They may not be able to slide you in. Calm down though, hundreds of thousands of trucks get built by humans, so there are plenty of chances for errors to happen and need to be fixed in the early part of the vehicles life.

Calmly ask the dealer to also replace the headliner as part of the repair, they wont mind as long as they pitch it to GM and get the approval from GM.

I hate doing this all the time but "Chevy" didn't call, your dealer did; there's a big difference.

My 3rd brake light had blown bulbs and full of water when i bought it. Warrantied out the light and it had moisture in it 6 months later. They said it would be covered and to bring it in again. I took it off myself and ran a bead of clear silicone around the gasket. Seems good so far.

Dude, you've got 14 posts! So what exactly do you "hate doing all the time"? Correcting people?? Because technically "Chevy" did contact him... as in the Chevy dealership. It's not like he said GM called him. If you have nothing of value to add, just don't say anything.

OP... my 14 All Terrain had a leak around the 3rd brake light and the dealership took it in, water tested it, found it was leaking around the 3rd brake light and replaced the light and the headliner since it was water stained. No problems after that.

A water logged truck is never the same. Demand a new truck.

You ain't kidding!

My second Avalanche was like a leaky submarine from the door seals, windshield, CMHSL, moon roof, and another they or me couldn't find after many tries. Spend half it's life getting water rung out and vacuumed from the padding under the carpet. Gave up when I saw the connectors in the body rail and under the drivers seat getting screwed up, mold under the headliner, etc. and didn't to waste time going the lemon route, dumped it before it later exploded an airbag or the seat motors froze in a forward position or some other electrical screw-up out of warranty. Water leads to connector oxidation which is an enemy in these trucks which use resistance measurements to identify the particular switch being activated over the vehicle's computer network.

The amount of posts I have has nothing to do with what's said. Lots of people on lots of forums, especially on the motorcycle forums I frequent, do the same thing: they get mad at the manufacture when it's the dealer that's not responding or dragging their feet.

So I am right, "Chevy" did not contact him, the "Chevy dealer" did. And if the "dealer" doesn't react to issues in the proper timeframe you now know you can go to another "dealer" or contact actual "Chevy" to get it fixed right. Getting more people to see the difference is quite valuable instead of simply thinking "Chevy" can't fix it right, not continuing on and being pissed.

Seems like there was something to add.......
