I know I wouldn't just eat a $700 seat repair. It's 200 miles over the b2b. I think that's an easy line to draw.

 

Ya it is an easy line to draw, GM already did and he's 200 miles past the line. Maybe the dealer will help, but GM has no reason to. Be glad manufacturers even offer warranties because they don't have too. You want more features, it's more to fix when they go bad.

Bad analogy.

 

Better analogy would be in a race. If you pass someone after the start/finish line after the race ends then should it count? If you're 2nd and only lost by 2 thousands of a second but you passed the leader 20 feet past the line after the race ends then should it count?

I'm surprised to see how many sheep are on here and how many assume they know everything.

 

To the one who said I use it as a work truck and must haul heavy loads or plow snow. I don't even drive the truck every day, it's by no means a work truck.

 

To all the fools who say its what I get and oh well just bend over and take it. I had no way of knowing if the heater works because I haven't had to use the heaters yet, it was summer time so a good faith by GMC makes pretty good sense to me.

 

To the ones who think well you bought more options just pay to have it fixed. That's right I bought an option I expected to work. all you have to do is a little search and see they have been having problems with the heaters and they give people lip service,"well it takes a while for it to heat up and you need to wait longer" how many miles to I have to put on before I find out it really doesn't work? 200?

 

They buy their time by feeding you BS, if you haven't figured that out yet you are in for a long hard lesson.

 

So here after having my truck for 2 full days they tell me they will talk to GMC about the seat and see what they say but that GMC has been pushing back. It's been a week and I still haven't heard anything. On top of that they never could figure out what happened to the steering and why it locked up. Mind you this is a stock unmodified truck!

 

On top of that they charged me $8.33 for shop materials, $55 dollars to look at my seat and 95 dollars to look into the steering. This is supposed to be warranty work!!!! Why are they charging me to fix their product that wasn't manufactured correctly? I already paid out the ass for this turd!!

 

This is just the fleecing of America and all you Clinton supports are the problem! Pull your heads out of your asses and stand up for yourself!!! If you let them take advantage of you, they will!!!

You do have some valid points for sure . Sadly I do not think other mfg's are much or any better neither. One can go to other forums and read plenty of horror stories too for what it is worth.But on the other hand people just keep buying them and wanting more creature features in them and will pay more every year!!

Hey man I feel your pain and I hope you get this fixed by GMC as it should be, but just to set the record the straight I would not support a klinton of they were the last people in politics in this country.

 

Do I think they should charge you? hell no

 

But I will suggest to you, once this ticket is cleared I strongly urge you to purchase an extended bumper to bumper warranty and take that truck back if the darn door squeaks when you open it on a warranty claim.

Once again you are assuming! I don't have to explain myself to you or anyone else, the fact is I bought a 3500 for whatever reason. Just so you know ****tard!!! I was planning on getting a 40' toy hauler to haul my ATV's and camp. Does that please you??? Just so you know even more I moved out of Denver and now live where I wanted to camp and don't need the toy hauler!!!! You happy now???

What's funny is that you say you don't have to explain yourself yet you do anyways.

 

The bottom line is that stuff breaks, sometimes too early but you have to fix it either way. So instead of whining about it like a little kid just fix it. Maybe you can find a dealer to work with you since it's so close to being out of warranty, but a dealer doesn't have to since GM drew that line of when something is out of warranty and it went over that line. It sucks, but just fix it instead of whine about it. You bought more features so it's more stuff that can and will break so you better get used to it. Especially since these trucks have more and more electronics in them than they ever had. Maybe you should get a pacifier and bib for Christmas.

 

By the way, I hope it has heavy aftermarket stuff for having to pay $70K since I've seen a Chevy High Country dually Duramax sell for $65K. So for 70 it better be a fully loaded Denali that's lifted. So if you want another truck you're going to lose more than you paid too much and will lose more than it will cost to fix the issues you have.

My question....what kind of attitude did this guy have when he walked in the dealer? which dealership was this? Maybe someone can call them to confirm they refused to work on this masterpiece of a lemon for free? I mean, we need to do some investigating into this. That's the purpose of the GM bashing right? Find out why those clowns won't honor an expired warranty on the most overpriced truck they've sold.

Hey Southern...dude said it's stock. It's just better than the rest of the stock that GM made. Has better options...has those tricked out "phantom" seat heaters!!!

      This is a 1/2 ton thing ONLY.  All HDs 2020-2026 have the two speed transfer case, with Autotrac as an option.     1/2 tons 2019-2026, regular 4x4s come with a single speed case (no 4LO!), and trucks with Z71 ordered, or all Trail Boss trucks come with the 2 speed case.  2 speed case is also an option on WT, and is also standard on High Country.

      2013 5.3 still to this day calls for the PF48 filter.  Which as a 15psi bypass pressure.     There is a TSB, 17-NA-157 that talks about the PF-63 and PF-64 filters which have a higher bypass rating of 22psi.    TSB HERE - temp.xml   "Beginning in 2012, the oil pumps began to regulate main gallery feedback instead of pump out pressure. This means that the oil pump now does not begin to regulate until pressure is built up to the main gallery. This change reduces the amount of time it takes to provide oil to the engine bearing and lifters during extreme cold start conditions.  Main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are present on the following engine families which use Spin-on oil filters: Small Gas Engine (SGE), Large Gas Engine (LGE), High Feature (HFV6) Gen2 and Small Block Gen5 gasoline engines. These engines with the main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are factory built with an ACDelco® oil filters"   It also calls out what engines use those filters.  The gen 4 small blocks were not on that list (LMG, LC9, L9H, L92, L94, L20, L96).  Gen 5 small blocks use the higher pressure filter.          That all said...   Your 7045 Napa filter is the PF63 equivalent, with 22psi bypass.  You are already using the higher bypass pressure filter.  You CAN keep using it, you don't technically have to use it though.

      Do you know WHY the filter relief setting was increased to 22 psig?    When the new system goes into the second stage the pump volume ramps up considerably. It was found that the 15 psi filter bypass setting put the filter in bypass on a warm engine when the second stage was activated. Raising the filter bypass setting forced the filter to do what it designed to do. Filter. Preventing debris from circulating during high load, high rpm operation.    So next question is how did GM find this out? VLOM/lifter failures and a deep dive by Melling Corp.    Last question. Is it required? Look at it like this; a motor may be equipped with a rev limiter. But it only works if the set point in reached. That 22 psig setting only matters if the pressure differential across the filter media exceeds 15 psig during normal warm operation. Second stage kicks in around 3000-3500 rpm.    I can't answer your question because I don't know you and how you use the truck. But I think there is enough information here to let you decide for yourself. 😉

      Probably not their first rodeo, so it should go as planned most likely.  Typically the service manager or tech doing the swap will put some seat time to shake it down after they get it all put back together.  We usually put 50-100mi before we hand them back so if something happens, its not after you get it.  A coolant leaks, oil leaks, a ground left off or loose, vibration, etc.     The new engines so far have been good?  There's been a couple that have popped out there again (the replacement engine) but most have been okay.
