Steering wheel lock up

i have a 2014 gmc sierra that has been doing it also it did it yesterday truck started fine then started flashing service stabilitrack and service 4 wheel drive, i shut the truck off and on a few times and then it wouldn't crank like battery was dead i kept locking and unlocking the truck until it would start and had check engine light drove to local autozone and they scanned code and it was a P2544 code and U0073 code has anybody else had these codes after the truck acted up Thanks

They've never detected anything wrong with mine or been able to renact it.

They didn't detect anything in the diagnostics. Just that I need new break pads. So now there's probably $1,300 I have to spend on the compressor and new pads.

You seem to be one of the rare Silveradoes to experience this. This is an assembly problem with late 2014 -15 Sierra models. It's a ground problem. Never heard of Silveradoes having this problem since they were assembled in a different plant.

The link I posted! It has seamed to work!! No problems no issues!! I took it away from the dealership. They give me the got damn run arounds 24/7! Took it to another local guy.

Looks like GM has finally admitted there is a major issue with these 2014 trucks. They have issued a recall for the exact problem I paid my dealership $500 to supposedly fixed. Any one with these problems needs to take it in to dealer. Nice to know we are driving around in trucks that will lose control at any given turn.

I'm sure this recall includes my 2014. I think it's also what I had a problem with a few months ago.

My 2014 gmc all terrain is doing the same thing locks up for 2-3 sec. This past weekend happen 2 times scary situation are you guys finding any solution to this?

I have a 2015 Tahoe that has been shutting down,steering wheel locks,stabilitrak and parking assistant warning.Almost killed my family at 85 MPH

Chevy doesn't seem to care.They did a recall on the steering assist module,but it continues to put our family in harms way.This is awful.The dealership is doing nothing about it.

I have a 2002 Cadillac Escalade AWD and sometimes when I'm making a turn, ie: turning into a parking space or entering a freeway on ramp my steering tries to lock up! My stabilitrak and brake light are lite up on my screen. I took it to my mechanic, he put his tester on it and the code said it was my Electronic Brake Control Module (this part has been discontinued by the dealer) He found one in a junk yard (cost $500.00) and installed it. The brake lite on the dash went out but the stabilitrak light is still on and my steering still locks up occasionally. When I took it back and he tested it again, the code said the brakes need bleeding, he bled them several times and it continues to say they need to be bled! What could be causing this?

I have a 2016 Silverado and my steering wheel also locks up. Shuts all the electronics in the truck off at the same time. I have to move at a higher speed to bring it out. Only does it in parking lots while flashing parking assist off. It shut off the electronics while doing 60 down the road when I tried to put both front windows up

Check your grounds. Clean them and make sure the grounds are on tight.
