Wow! The General has got a problem on their hands here! The video really hits home.

Would be nice if there was an option to delete some of this electronic crap.
At least the stuff what interferes directly with the steering, brakes and throttle.

Things go wrong. Some things shouldn't, though.

I don't have the time and nerves to deal with .

So far, I don't know what to do when my truck is due for trade in.

That video needs to be shown to her dealer / zone manager and then to her attorney. Let GM figure it out or replace her vehicle. No amount on award money is worth it to continue driving that truck if injuries or death occur to anyone.

GM doesn't care. There is no bad publicity, yet. What this lady needs to do is give the video to the local news. Maybe the network will put it out nationally. GM's tactic is to ignore and minimize. Think of the ignition switches... All these car companies are like this.

Yes I saw that video too. That's exactly what the steering wheel used to do. It would jerk back like the one in the video did and we even showed the video to the service tech when we were dropping it off.

Hi! My 2014 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ runs great and drive great. Love it. One problem though... my steering wheel locks up and I will get 3-4 quick messages saying Intellik, stabillik, and park assist off. (Spelling is off for sure because I can't read them in time) it happens when my foot is off the acceleration and turning. It ONLY occurs in my friends neighborhood entrances!! Weird!! Never happens anywhere else. Usually the steering wheel locks up for 2-3 sec but today it lock up and I went up on the curb and the engine shut off. I drove home fine though. Any thoughts??

I have been dealing with your problem since June of last year. I've taken it to multiple dealerships as well. I don't know if you saw my previous comment, but I had an electrical fire last week after dealing with this for almost a year. The cause was the battery cable that connects to the alternator is causing extreme drops and spikes in voltage when under 15 mph. Every time my truck would give me warning lights (assisted steering, service stablitrak, etc) and shut off was when I was about to park or in a drive through. Eventually the alternator blew up. I took action faster than I should have and had the fire out with only fire damage to the air intake, alternator and some wiring. I should have let the whole thing burn. I'm going through GM Customer service for the 30th time and maybe they will take my experience to help others.

Report your fire to the "NHTSA" web site, detail this problem,to the point only! Then it will be documented for investigation by bigger agencies.

A fire or loss of control is a huge liability for any manufacture! The NHTSA takes this very seriously and will get involved after a few complaints.

Do your part to keep others safe!

Yeah I'm sure all our cars are or had the same problem with the steering. I just can't believe that mine was suggested as a traction control error because it happened in the same spot. It hasn't happened again so we'll see. If it happens again I'll be looking at the 2016 silverados.

Im having this exact issue. Can't find any answers. Scared to death to drive my new truck. I traded off a 2005 duramax to get a truck I wouldn't have to working on every single weekend and dumping money into. Now this came up. Did you ever find an answer as to what it was?

I didn't ever found out the real problem with mine. The problem has been gone for a month or two but I have had 2 minor occurances in the last week.(no shutdown just the messages)

I think I found something that may help us out. Take a look at these two videos.
