Led license plate lights

I installed diode dynamics led license plate lights Friday and just got an email from OnStar saying one or more of the lights have malfunctioned. Could this be from the leds?

Seen this come up on another post before quoting the same reason, so possibly. I switched my license plate lights to Philips LED bulbs and have not had an issue, and that was over a year ago.

I see. I know that leds pull less power than the factory incandescent bulb so that's why I figured it was what caused it. I've walked around the truck twice with all lights on and none are out or "malfunctioned" as it said. I'll just keep my eye on everything and see if it could possibly be something else.

I get the monthly onstar emails and disregard them.

I had the same thing from onstar. I just deleted the email.

Would be interesting to see if you install the Philips bulbs if it would clear the message. Not sure why it would be any different but you never know!

I bought these for my 2014 without an issue, about 1 year now. I also got the same brand for cargo and reverse lights, also without issue.

I just had the same thing and I have Phillips bulbs. I have a feeling it wa caused by the bulb not in the socket correctly the first time I put it in.

i went with the philips bulbs and got an email from onstar the morning after i installed them. have had two random emails about a bulb out since then, but not everyday.
