**UPDATE**

 

I am currently in a SOLD OUT status for Plug and Play Harnesses.  For those of you that have purchased my PnP Harnesses, please understand that I am able to provide this service and get you your harnesses because others have sent me their stock harnesses for the core refund credit.  Once your upgrade is complete, please send me your stock harnesses so I can refund you $40 and can continue doing this for others.  

 

IF stock harnesses don't come back, I will either have to push the pause button on this project until cores come back, increase prices (as I will have to get harnesses on my own), or withdraw from project/service altogether.

 

With that said, if anyone has stock harnesses available (even if you didn't get a set from me), please PM.  I would like to extend this core refund credit offer to you as well.

PS - For anyone looking to perform this upgrade, I can take your order, but won't be able to fill it in the same quick turnaround as I have.  So there will be an unknown wait time.  Cores trickle in but not as fast as I am sending them out.

Im so happy with folding tow mirrors right now that I dont mind that I dont have any of the lights functioning on them. Im not looking forward to tackiling the rzy harness install. As usual big thanks to Phil and all he does. I will be contacting him about the custom door harnesses if he doesnt stop making them first.

Glad to hear! Thanks for the update and feedback! Your comment about “going back to the dealer to show them it can be done” is usually my driving factor in all I do here :). Reach out to me anytime when it comes time for the RZY Install.

A big thank you goes to pgamboa for his help with the wiring on my recent upgrade. Thanks Phil! ?

 

I just upgraded my DL3 mirrors, to the DQS tow mirrors from 1aauto (P/N: 1AMRP01786). I used Phil’s DIY wiring, and everything went great. This doesn’t mean that I didn’t have questions, but Phil was very quick to respond with help, even though I was probably interrupting his day. Sorry Phil, LOL. 

 

Like others have said; If you’re swapping mirrors, watch Phil’s very helpful YouTube videos, and get your wiring from Phil (pgamboa). 

 

I’m not sure of how bright the cargo lamp spotlights are on the GM mirrors, but the spotlights on the 1aauto mirrors are bright as hell.

Finished up my mirror install of AM-2558332961 mirrors with Phil's diy harness, new switch, and rzy harness!

all went according to plan and Phil was there for all the questions I had.

 

My truck is a 14 LT crew cab short bed

 

Only above and beyond I did was the cargo lights, I added another switch under the dash between the pink and brown connectors so I can activate them while backing up my trailers, I did not want them coming on all the time with the fob.

 

But, Without pgamboa, this mod would have a much greater learning curve.

Does your existing DPN mirror have the Cargo Light, Turn Signal and Clearance Lamp?

heated, but i do not think they have the clearance lamp or cargo light. they do have the turn signal and inside rear view auto dimming feature though

Usually, going from **current** DPN to DQS doesn’t require a harness or harness modification. But in your case, you have the older DPN mirror that GM released prior to the newer style. I would investigate the door side harness in the door jamb and see if you have pins 9, 11, and 41 present. Remember that you’ll need to look at the door side and not the cabin side.

While you’re at it, investigate the cabin side and report back on both. Send me a PM with the info.

Great and helpful post Phil. I received my 1A Tow mirrors today and must say I'm a bit disappointed. I'm removing the DL3 full function sport mirrors on my 2016 Silverado Z71 LTZ and replacing them with the full function 1A tow set I purchased that I thought was a plug and play replacement. After watching your videos I realize that is not the case. I knew I would need to hard wire the marker and courtesy flood (or back up) lights but after watching your video feel your customer harnesses will make this task much easier. How do I go about purchasing your custom harnesses (I see no place to order?) and are you confident I won't lose any full functionality features utilizing your product? BTW, the 1A mirrors came with no extra wiring or stud mounting hardware. I've contacted them via email to ask if this was an oversight on their part but I'm not confident Ill even receive a reply from them. Best

Hey Phil quick question I’m putting together another little mod. How can I get my hands on the wires you use they seem pretty close spot on to factory. I tried searching back here but the search is horrible.thanks.

I use Remington 22AWG Stranded Hookup Wire, but any 22AWG Stranded should do.
