dyno tune driveshaft cannot handle 115+

My Chevy shake is gone. Ordered 2 piece Driveshaft conversion from Performance Driveline out of California. My truck is tuned and Cammed out and a stall. At 105 before I thought truck was going to fly apart. Now it is Smooth from 50-125+ MPH thank God Performance Driveline makes this kit

What did they use for the input shaft, u joint sizes and tube size

Glad to her, these guys are actually making me a custom 5” one piece as we speak. Why go with a two piece on these trucks?

Because now I have a  stronger set up. A long one piece will flex. Stock paper thin Driveshafts split on the Dyno. Check out YouTube Silverado driveshaft fails. Now I have 2 stronger shorter steel Driveshafts and no Vibrations

Right now I lifted mine 8”, then just bolt on upgrades, so having them do a custom 5” steel rear and custom aluminum front should work fairly well eh? I’m just praying this gets rid of rest of this Chevy shake

If that is what they suggested I'd have to say yes. They are the Driveline experts

So the limiter on mine is one of if not the lowest of all the truck combinations.  14 Double Cab, 6.2L, Max tow 3.73 6spd.  It shuts off between 92-94mph.  It's ridiculous.  But I figured it has to be something with the capability of the driveshaft. Oddly enough this combination gets the highest tow ratings.  I never did get her tuned but when I do I'll prolly keep the limiter around 105 after reading this post.  I just would like a few more mph when I enter an interstate.  I peg the damn thing most of the time.

I've seen 117mph in my 16 regular cab 5.3 3.42 and my dad's 17 crew cab 5.3 3.42 stops at 98mph.

Dang man those little driveshafts twist up like pretzels. looks like this 18 6.2 has a bit larger aluminum driveshaft, I am not sure if that is good or bad thing after reading this thread?

Well according to what I was told if the walls were thicker the diameter could be smaller and that would raise critical speed.It has an amazing tune done by the same guys who do some of the street outlaw tuning and I make the payments so I will do with it how I choose.Regardless these driveshafts are garbage.I will be opting for a high performance aluminum piece very soon.And yes the critical speed of the shaft caused jump roping of the driveshaft and the stress at the work hardened area fails.

I’ve got to agree with you. In all seriousness, the information on the drive shaft is good to know. Who would’ve known there’s a card board roll in these things, these engines are always competing with other manufacturers on power and acceleration as well as durability. If and when you do buy another driveshaft please let us know. More power to you bud, you’re paying for it so make sure to enjoy every bit of your dollar just PLEASE be safe and courteous to others. I wonder what material the driveshafts are made of in the competitors? You do know GM had lots of driveshaft recalls in the 14’s and 15’s some years back for being unstable creating vibrations at higher speeds.
