Brake Caliper piston compress tool

Anyone ever use one of these on 2014 and up Silverado/ Sierra trucks? my sons vehicle requires one of these and if people use them on these trucks i might order one. It for pressing the brake caliper piston back in when changing brakes and rotates the piston at the same time.

I am way old school and ignorant never used any kind of special tool for brakes.......I should have bought one long ago!

These pistons don't rotate out like many foreign cars do, just use an 8 inch C clamp and an old pad like stated above

I was asking if anyone has used that specific kit linked above.

I do know you can use a C clamp or other piston compression tool.

You need those kits for the brakes with the E-Brake basically inside the caliper. They need to be spun back in as you compress the piston.

This resets them.

On our trucks the E-Brake is on the inside of the rear brake rotor and is a separate system. They work like an drum brake.

So our pistons will just push back in.

I don't know if it was that exact kit, but i've used a similar kit like that on a sequoia and i found it useful.

as others have noted, those kits really shine when having to screw the rear brake piston back in on certain imports.

Edit: This is the kit I used

Not sure if mine was that "exact" kit but it looked just the same. Never used it for regular push in pistons, I always use the one I linked to a few post up as it is a one piece tool and works great. The rears on my Mustang are screw in so I use that type of kit on those only. Mines hurried in the garage, since I don't put that many miles on my Mustang it's been years since I have even pulled it out.

Looks like a decent kit. Did you buy it?

That type of piston compressor doesn't look like it will work on my truck's fronts, since I have Wilwood 6 piston calipers. I think it's only for calipers with pistons on one side. Also, my Camaro has Brembo calipers with pistons on the inboard and outboard sides.
