Just did the MUFFLER DELETE ONLY on the 6.2L.... AMAZING!!! The neighbors with Rados and Sierras are all doing the same.

KEEP THE RESONATOR. KEEP THE FLAPPER (i zip tied mine open for now).

JUST DELETE THAT MUFFLER. And then add an RTP TIP : http://www.redtailperformance.com/Exhaust_tips/

and enjoy

I can't believe I almost spent $1200 on the Borla.... $80 at the muffler shop.

That is all

How is you drone? How is your chopper sound with no functioning flapper?

A little grumpy down south this morning - he had to make a first post on something.

:dunno:

I am leaning towards a Flowmaster 50 Big Block change out myself, leaving flapper active, and resonator on......

damn, my bad! Just got rid of the vette for a '17 and thought it was the coolest thing ever that a little mod like that could give the same feel!! Must be drunk off the sound!! have a good one!

No drone or chopper to speak of really, That's why i left the flapper in. Incase of a long road trip I can snip the zip tie and let the flapper give some back pressure to eliminate the drone/chop

Your right, should've waited till I finished my coffee before posting! I just sometimes wish people would use the search function or look at different thread options before they post.

Most of the stuff has been covered, so just shut it down? This is an enthusiast site, let people be enthused and repeat if they want.

I wired mine back with the stock muffler - does give a nice even sound at start-up - couldn't see the point otherwise - and figured it would weaken the spring over time - so that lasted thru that one test start-up - then removed the wire.

Well the exhaust threads are exhausting - still a little on the fence about doing anything with the exhaust........

While I'm 1,000% with you, and I thank you for trying to get the word out, be prepared for about 80 posts explaining how you're wrong from individuals who have either already paid entirely too much for an exhaust and secretary regret it OR they have no experience with this mod and it's so cheap and crazy effective that they simply can't believe it. I know, I've talked myself blue in the face.

100th post on it or not... PEOPLE STILL BUY $1200 Borla's for the same effect. I had zero exhaust note from the 6.2 with the stock. Now its awesome on cold starts, great on warm starts and even pops and gargles on revs... from an $80 muffler delete!

I'll take it from here!

I had a Dynomax super turbo installed in my 2014 GMC to give it a bit of sound as I dont want my truck to sound like a race car after all it's a truck haha, does the muffler delete make it loud, because just having a muffler and tip installed was like $300 up here in Canada, was thinking to do just another dynomax one on my 2017 Silverado.

Posted

Oh great another truck with a muffler delete. To each there own. But nothing beats the sound of a corsa sport or a borla attack catback..

Posted

hmm, but what if my state requires a muffler? what do i do then? :nonod:

If cops are going to start checking mufflers then they have to much time on their hands. Might be a sign that you need to build more Dunkin Donuts! hahaha

Good for you!!! Muffler delete would be my exact plan it my truck would pass state inspection. But gotta have one. So I went with the Flowmaster 10, their loudest, most aggressive muffler. Enjoy! And post as much as you want.?
