Ahh so you get the one side rotate too . I've had to email their GM and be in constant contact with their service manager cause anytime I do anything through them it's like a 6 hour root canal.

Ha ha.. I guess so! I never checked to be honest. I have 18.5K miles on the GY Duratracs and they are wearing fine and evenly. I always check the oil level after a service and so far it's been spot on. Hopefully the truck continues to run good and I won't run into any service issues. So far I've been able to get in and out pretty quickly for the oil changes, tire rotations and multi point inspections.

What surprised me was that you have to get your state inspections done there too in order to keep the 'diamond advantage' active. I was there yesterday. All it cost me was $35 for the sticker. So the service was on them. That had to be around $80 or $90 for and oil change ($69), tire rotation(probably $20) had I had to pay for it.

See i have noticed some odd wear on my front two tires so i marked them thinking they were not rotating then found out how they rotate.   Also i believe my oil change prior they didn't fill it up correctly i drove a good  2k miles 1 quart low (cause i don't check when i leave) til i checked oil after running a few tanks of good gas through to find the oil was down. now i have to do a consumption test go figure. but my theory is the guy doing the oil change just didn't put the last quart in after the filter was added TBH.

My normal visits take time, i have had some warranty work done on my camera and that took 4 different visits with 4 different days taking my truck for the entire day, each day i was told "we are low staff couldn't get your appointment done" until i wrote to the GM then somehow they got it done in 1 day. but it took me about 4 months to get the camera resolved... took them 4 months to order the part like no joke 4 months to place the part order so it arrives when i am there for an appointment too.  Yes they give u a loaner but i have a 2 year old i need his car seat etc etc and normally the loaner is a extended cab so therefor a full sized car seat doesn't fit properly in the back. plus to get it done i need to be in 2 places at once A: picking my son up from daycare B: dropping off my truck for the appointment -- doesn't work out well/easily

Glad however your getting decent results maybe there is some hope for the dealership.

So the other day i suspected my dealership wasn't rotating my tires on my 2017 Silverado. So i marked tires 2 changes ago this last change i noticed my front left went to my back left and my back left to my front left...no crossing sides?!

Now in the book it specifies sides should cross, Web researching specifies this and many "models" to follow. So i talked to the service manager at the dealership and he said they don't cross rotate for "road noise" ??????? I called Chevy they specified they believe cross rotation is the proper way and confirmed by calling 2 other dealerships in the area to confirm 2/3 dealerships in my area cross rotate tires.

Why would you not cross rotate the tires?  now that it's 22k miles on my truck would starting to cross rotate them now mess with it more? i'm assuming so i'm guessing the tires are basically gone until i get new ones.

Anyone else encountered similar issues and/or have feedback on the rotation situation.

There's twenty seconds right there.

    • My truck is a ¾ ton but my placard also says 80 for the rear tires, I think I might have the upgraded suspension to the 3500 series maybe.   I put my air down to 60 and the light was still on, and there was no way I was putting over 60 psi in the rear empty and not towing because I knew the actual number Toyo gave me and I didn't wanna ruin the center of my tires!   And you actually can change it in the settings from metric or is and it will show kph or mph then when you go into your tire settings it will be either psi or kpa, but it would be nice to just change it directly on the tire psi page
    • Common Sense Assembly   Your driveline is forgiving of the occasional mistake. It will even often forgive the random serious blunder. But it will not forgive a continuous bad habit.      What? Not everything needs to be a five thousand word essay.
    • We drove about 15 minute east today to visit a friend and saw a steep increase in price in the same county. About 50 cents a gallon steepper.
    • Sure about that? A degree wheel and a dial indicator would lower your degree of assurance in that statement. 😉    It why we have offset keys and dialable timing sprockets. Just say'n.... I've built a few and have never seen one "On the money".
    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
