Sierra Dome Light Issue?

I have a 2005 Sierra Crew Cab, Short Box, Z71. 

 

The dome lights do not come on when I open any doors, but the door lights come on.  Any ideas?

On an 04, the control switch (lower left of wheel on dash) controls door, reading and some. If all but done are working, then some may be burned out.

Thanks! The dome lights work manually... just not when the door opens. So maybe it's the switch like you said?

So,
a) dome and map come on with manual control (door closed)
b) door and map (no dome) can be turned on and off with the other control and door open

Will have to check wiring diagram

To confirm:

 

All headliner lights do not come on with any door opening. They do turn on manually via the buttons to the side of the lights themselves.

 

Door lights are the only lights that come on when any doors open.

 

The dial on the light switch on the left of the steering wheel, when all the way in the up position to turn on all interior lights, only turns on the door lights. All headliner lights do not turn on from the dial at all.

The dial, in up position, should turn on the map and dome. There should be another button near the dial that looks like an upside down sunrise with a line thru it. This activates/deactivated the door, map, dome when the door is open.

Sounds like this module with the dial and button has gone bad.

Correct! I'm thinking the same... I'll buy it and see if that fixes the problem. Thanks again! Let you know.

i just got a hold of a 2006 silverado on sunday that had this exact same issue. ended up behind a 15 amp fuse in the panel right by the driver side of the dash
