Would you sleep or live in your 2018/2019 pickups if?

From the little research I've done, you have to post a LOT of content (post daily, or close to it), where each video gets a LOT of views.

I thought most YouTube videos are not genuine in terms of living in a pickup or van 24/7. It is hard to verify that. Some videos regarding surviving in the wilderness is not possible because of the supply each are carrying, but I hope it is for entertainment. I don’t think you can make a lot of  money from ads on the videos and # of subscribers.

So if you live in your truck while making payments on it do you pay renters insurance because the lender “owns” the truck or do you pay homeowners insurance on your personal belongings? Ask your agent about discounts like the not parked under a tree discount, parked in a good neighborhood discount, and the not in a van down by a river discount.

Don’t forget that all the “swing” parts on the 019s is aluminum so you’ll have to stick your magnetic mailbox to the fender or the box side or cut a mail slot in the shell for the mailman to deliver your payment book.

Make sure you call the county and let them know where your parking at so they can figure out your property taxes I’m sure your like the rest of us you would feel horrible if you didn’t pay your “fair share”...

And I’d recommend parking with the cab of the truck facing East or investing in ghetto tint so the morning sun isn’t shining in your bedroom!

Thanks. I thought of instead of paying $1200/ month for rent, all goes toward the pickup while using the pickup as effectively and efficiently as possible. Well, majority of members are against the Americans dream of easy owning a new truck concepts.

In my experience any of these style questions are normally posed by people who already have answers to and are looking for external validation. I would NEVER get lent money for a new truck to live in. As much as you may love your truck it's a depreciating item. If you are having to decide between a truck payment and a rent payment it means your finances aren't in order, either due to past decisions or current earning power. If it were me I'd choose to spend extra cash into education that can earn me more rather than stuffing it into a depreciating asset like a truck.

There is something to be said about your healthy mental state of things like a kitchen, shower, bed, etc. which will make you perform better during your job and thus enhance your income as you increase your skills.

And I've never seen a place where the lowest rent is $1200 a month, perhaps you should look at finding some roommates.

Do you earn much from your channel?

I have heard that popular Youtuber's can earn a living from their channels.

Not much, i have around 20k views a month on my channel and earn just above 30 US$ a month

It really depends solely on how much people click on the Ads you let google put on your videos

Big Youtubers with Dailyish vlogs and 1 million subscribers earn like 40 grand a month or so

Thanks. In the Bay Area rent is quite expensive. I thought about it, and how difficult a lifestyle can be. It is not for everyone. Just most things in life are not for everyone. You are right. A kitchen,  bed , entertainment can be built inside a pickup bed camper, but shower or bathroom is not possible.

I think it depends on where you are located. If I have to, I would consider it for limited of times, but I should not or must not doing it at this time. I ask a question to see how supportive from GM Truck perspectives. Is there one person can interject the other point of view?

I remember when I was in college. Sometime or most of the time, I would swallow gum to satisfy my hunger as I was not financially well of comparing to other growing up with a spoon if not a silver spoon. Having said that, would I swallow gum again? I would if I have to, but I should not and must not doing it again at this time because I am better of now. I can afford food now. In the future maybe if I am in certain condition or predicament.

It is hard for me to fathom on the concept of loving my truck... a person is claiming to love their pickups, but they would not sleep in it for not even one night.

Some successful youtubers and bloggers are pulling down millions a year but it’s a full time job doing it. Think I read that the most successful kid makes $10,000,000 a year opening packages on YouTube. And no I didn’t make a typo.

With that said, no freaking way would I live in my truck just to not pay rent. That’s the dumbest thing financially. Go to a Dave Ramsey seminar or something. If my life comes to choosing between rent and a truck payment the truck would be gone the next day along with my charger and anything else I needed to to keep a roof over my family and I’s heads and food on the table.

And no, this isn’t the Americans dream of owning a new truck easily. This is a dumb way for people to think. This is the most irresponsible way ever for people to think. I love my charger but at the end of the day it’s an inanimate object and completely disposable. My family, our safety, and our finances are so much more important than a depreciating asset that does nothing but cost money.

The only way I could feasibly see living out of your truck is if you are a hot shotter. At that point it makes sense to some extent.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. I don’t know if Dave Ramsey or Clark Howard would advise sell the truck and rent the truck when you need or ride bike, take a bus to work instead. It depends like you said having a roof over your family. What if you are single? You have to pay child support, etc.

I think I might not paraphrase my question correctly. Turning a simple question to a complicated one. I am not asking on principle but rather possibility. For example, there are people stand on principle that they would rather die than to eat dog or cat or drink their own urines. I will never tell a secret... is on principle but you would never sleep on a 2019 Silverado/ Sierra. I can understand if one insists on saying I would never sleep in a Ford or Ram as an example but never on a beautiful Trail Boss? Is GM pickups overrated?

Wow! This train didn’t just go off the tracks... it’s gone off the side of a mountain.

And it is going straight to the nearest trailer park apparently

Laughing. Hopefully, it eventually is coming out of a tunnel through a mountain. It cannot be a controversial topic, is it?

Laugh. Why camping trailer and RV are okay, but something we said we love but not okay to sleep in it? When I was younger, I wore  a Jame Bond Seamaster watch to sleep. I wore a Air Nike shoes to sleep. I sept in my Silverado many times when I am camping at various campsites. How many of you had ever slept in your pickups? How many of you had lined up at Best Buy on Black Friday to save couple hundred bucks?

I'll take power naps in the driver's seat when I've had a long day, give me some decent sleeping gear and I'd have no qualms camping out in the bed.

Given the need arose, it would be doable. No kitchen would suck, but for $10 a month I'm guaranteed a daily shower, just roll down to Planet Fitness. You could fit a decent mattress in the bed (my queen fit perfectly when I went to go get it). Keep some clothes in the back seat. Not ideal, but doable. Depends on what you're setting out to accomplish. Certainly deciding between rent or truck payments would indicate severe financial problems, but that's another question. Would I do it? Yes. I'm attached
