Has anyone put the 305/70r18 on stock trail boss? My 295/70r18 barley clear, don’t know if the 305/70 would rub... ?

Mike, absolutely no rubbing, in any conditions with the 295/70/18? Not over bumps/wheels cut or in reverse?

and just to confirm you're completely stock, crew cab with short or std bed?

I went back through the pics and it looks to be the perfect size for these trucks. 295/70/18 fills the wheel well without being a huge tire that kills power and adds too much unsprung weight.

I got you guys. Still have the pics saved on my phone cuz this are the tires I want when I wear out my duratracs. 295/70r18 only 62lbs plus a great price.

The truck looks great. I think it doesn't look as big as it actually is, because of the side steps. They tend to fill in a large gap you'd see under the door - without them the truck would look huge (for stock) IMO.

So, will 295/60/20 Ridge Grapplers fit on my crew cab short box AT4 without any modification and zero rubbing?  Their website says 33.94" tall and 11.77" wide at 65.88 lbs.

I think you will be fine. There are a few posts of people saying that they don't rub. I was told that the Ridge Grappler 35x11.5 will work too, may or may not need the 1.5” MotoFab level.

I had 35x12.50x18 and really didn’t have any rubbing.

I ordered the mastercrafts in 305/70/18.  There a little smaller than the 35s. So I think(hope) I’ll be alright

Make sure you post your results when installed. According to tiresize.com thos 305/70r18 Mastercraft MXT are 34.96”x12.5” @65lbs each. In size they are probably closer to 35” than actual 35s labeled tires themselves. Weight is decent considering my buddies 33s are 73lbs lol. Definitely looking forward to your results achieved. Also is your truck stock or leveled?

that is nearly identical to the 295/70/18 so I would assume yes, no issues.

the key here is that everyone realizes this is on stock wheels+offset.

Don’t the 305/70/18 convert to 34.81/12.01/18

Posted (edited)

I think I’m going to order the mastercrafts in the 295/70/18 instead of 305/70/18.

Are are they a big difference in the 2 sets. I know one is 12.5 and the other is 12.  The height is 34.25 for the 295s and 34.96 for the 305s.   Is that . 71 a really big difference?

technically yes, but every manufacturer is different - not one manufacture is the same. The company states the real life size on their sites.

for the 305/70/18 it's 34.96 x 12.5 actual size, which is bigger than most other manufacturers claimed "35x12.5" actual size.

yeas, for clearance purposes, that almost 3/4" difference is critical on stock suspension

You the man tanner.  How bout in appearance wise?  Is there much of a gap in size  in appearance.   Is it like half inch taller than the 295s?

The 305s in mastercraft are actually bigger than the 35s I had in that thunderer brand.   So in that case. I’ll just stick with the 295/70/18

nothing you would notice unless you literally put them side by side.

I think the 295s are a good choice. I'm trying to find somewhere local to source them for me in the mastercrafts as well.

I have the same wheel / tire combo on my AT4 put on by the dealership when I bought mine.  I am getting some rubbing at full lock in reverse and if I turn in up a hill.  Thinking about doing the 1.5 inch leveling kit by Motofab.  Have you noticed any rubbing?  Do you like the ride with these tires?

No rubbing at all... 4,500 miles on the setup and it’s a 10/10.

You have the exact same tires (brand & size)?

What psi are you running? Sweet spot is at 36 psi... if your running something in the 40s your making the tire taller.....
