I had purchased mine in March and only been driving to work (4.5 miles each way) so I didn't ever see, November 11th we went to the In-laws and it was raining, My 10 year old says I'm getting wet, It was scheduled for its first oil change on the 26th, said they would need to keep it for about a week, I told them I would need a loaner can't be without wheels for a week, so I had to wait almost 1 month, they call, I drop mine off and pick up a 2019 Z71, last night we are coming back again from my in-laws, we stop to get gas and my 4 year old daughter Mon! this truck leaks in the same place as daddy's truck!

Lol, wow. This is really going to turn into a huge issue for GM.

Got mine in March 2019, too. It was a Feb 2019 build. Started leaking after 8 months, 7000 miles... which seems like a lot of people’s stories right now. With winter and spring upon us, the dealerships are going to start seeing a LOT more of these.

With as big as this thread is, are there any trucks out there with significant time and mileage that do NOT leak? If so, I wonder what the difference could be between those that leak and those that don’t.

I used to think this was an issue isolated to specific build dates. But in the past few weeks a lot of us 2019 builds and even some 2020 builds are saying they are leaking. So methinks this issue is much worse than people think.

I will safely speculate to say that nearly every T1 will have a leak at some point.

This is crazy, because lastnight it wasn't even raining hard when my daughter noticed the loaner was leaking too. Monday I'm calling Chevrolet and asking them to replace the rear window, I was reading that's the only real fix.

Good luck. It’s not really the only real fix, as there can still be some seals on the spoiler that leak. But it’s the next step if they already resealed your window.

Been raining the last two days on and off and no re-leaks yet. But man, I'm checking almost every day. This isn't mentally healthy. Didn't start leaking until 12k miles. Nov '18 build, bought in March '19. No leaks until December '19. I would bet and agree with @econometrics that this issue affects all Silverados. There are only two types of Silverados, ones that have leaked and ones that will.

I probably had less then a 1000 miles on my 2019 when I first smelled a bad odor. I thought for sure the carpet had gotten wet but I could find no evidence. This happened several times over the next couple of months until I finally discovered wet carpet just inside the drivers side passenger door. I started researching and found this forum and that;s when I realized it was coming from the rear window. My window is leaking on left and right side. There was water in the sliding window track and the plastic trim around the window is cracked. Going to the dealership a week from Tuesday. i wanted to get the holidays behind us so maybe the technicians will have a little focus. I'm going to stress a new window be installed because of the large crack in the plastic trim around the sliding glass. No amount of new sealant is going to fix that issue. So we shall see what happens.

I don't think the solid rear window is included in the leaking.  I posted in another forum. It seems like it's not IF it's going to leak but, WHEN.

I was dreading it before but now I’m really worried about it because I just had my interior redone with katzkins leather the last thing I was is some greasy tech getting hand prints all over the inside of my truck. Not to mention the horrible sealant and scratch job that comes along with the exterior part of the repair

Right, I think the solid rear windows are fairing better. I guess I haven’t heard if anyone here with a leak has the solid window? I assume we all have the sliding rear.

But, seeing how the spoiler is attached to the cab, and the poor engineering for water flow there, I could see how the solid rear windows could leak at some point, too.

Main issue here seems to be that the sealant doesn’t keep the seal after some time goes by with the truck flexing and freezing / cooling, etc. Both sealant on the sliding window frame, but also around the spoiler bolt locations.

I think part of the issue is the slider window has a piece of plastic for the window slider in-between the glass and gasket. The solid window is just glass and gasket but I would have to double check on my loaner. It's just a bad design all around. All to add a stupid spoiler that doesn't even look that good.
