Bigger gas tank for 1500 Crew cab

When I emailed Titan I asked about my 2019 LTZ Z71 with the 6.2.  The response I received was they were working on a few things.  I emailed them again today just to confirm they were talking about a gas engine option but since I mentioned the 6.2 and I don't believe the 3.0 Duramax is out yet I feel pretty sure they were.  

 

What other companies make larger aftermarket gas fuel tanks?  Chevy is getting a lot of flack over the smaller fuel tank so hopefully they release an option for a larger tank with future models, that can be retrofitted into the 2019's.  If you've looked under where the fuel tank is there's a ton of room so I would expect they planned ahead.

I think it's all part of the "dramatic weight reduction" they have been raving about.  Once that settles down see what happens...

 

Just my thoughts.  I'll choose range over mileage any day, gimme a big tank please!

Also payload bragging rights... a bigger tank will pull a couple hundred off those metrics and also make the trucks look more like everyone else.

Added payload doesn't explain why their main competition has a smaller and larger option. Small tank standard, large tank optional. It's not like having more fuel on board is a radical idea. This is GM simplifying the build process by limiting options. They're saving manufacturing costs and nothing more.

I just received the same email. I guess the only option now is to hope Chevy offers a larger gas fuel tank option on future models that can be retrofitted to the 2019.

The above makes me wonder how different the inevitable larger diesel tank will be from a gasoline tank in terms of fittings, etc.  

 

If it is the same and there isn’t anything weird required to update the computer for the new size there wouldn’t be anything preventing the swap from a physical do-it-yourself standpoint. I bet that large space in front of the tank will be for DEF though... will be interesting to see what this tank looks like.

One question I have is how is it almost impossible like Titan claims when Transfer Flow currently makes a 46 gallon replacement tank for the Toyota Tundra.

A year later almost on this, anyone find anything new? When towing I get about 10mpg, which makes me fill up every 200 miles, at 70 mph , that's less than 3 hours travel time, and that really sucks.

My wifes 15 suburban gets 500 miles on e85. Think her tank is 32 gallons. Would that tank fit?

Does anyone know if there is a different lining in the gas fuel tank vs diesel? I have to imagine the HD gas trucks have a bigger tank, there has to be a way to swap it.

Why not use the gas tank from a 6.0 truck.

A side by side picture of a half ton tank and a 3/4 ton tank would really help with seeing how it would fit in the frame.

The space for a DEF tank could you put a def tank and transfer pump or a free flow some how and make it work

Wouldn't be able to sell a single one in the U.S. if owners expect vehicle to remain in compliance with emissions, C.A.F.E and crash standards....an  excellent excuse to have your insurance company invalidate coverage for the mod.
