Other screens. Yes I know doing it by hand is the preferred way but...

I want to try to break the 30 mark on the 50 mile.

I obtained these numbers by going around 50.

Longest I've gone is 1153km / 716miles between fills.

Kinda fun looking at 650 - 700 miles 'expected range' screens right after a fill.

how many gallons is your tank?

your best 400 mile average is only 22.7 mpg, so that means you would need almost 31 gallons of fuel to hit 700 miles at that fuel economy.

I know, your numbers are better than I'm getting with the 5.3. But 700 miles on a tank seems ridiculous.

Anything below 2000 RPM is where MPG nirvana lives in the Duramax. My best "actual measured" was 23.4 mpg. Where it really shines is during towing but then you may already know that.

Enjoy.

Yes, the old school thought is the Diesel engine isn’t broken in until it gets 100,000 miles on it. Yes, fuel economy will get better with clean fuel filters and quality fuel.

I don't buy that 100 k break in for a diesel.

The first few thousand miles will do the most break in on any motor IMO.

Then by 5 to 10 k miles the bearings etc. have worn in IMO.

The 26 gallon 1500 tank sucks. If I go half ton again, it will be a Ford simply for the range when towing (36 gal). My buddy has an Ego-Boost and averages 23MPG highway. His range is often over 800 miles. I love the 36 gallon in my HD, even with the 12mpg I average.

Just completed an 800mi road trip - mostly at 70+ MPH with some slower stuff thrown in. Overall average was 23 MPG - revs were right around 1600 most of the time.

I love both my DMax and the 36 Gal fuel tank.

Wow, I guess I should have gotten a d-max......  My 12-13 mpg on the 6.0 is pretty depressing right now :sigh: :sigh:.

No reason to be. Overall cost on 6.0 is lower (way more to fill up with diesel prices) and it is a very durable and proven setup...and no DEF....

$ 2 a gallon gas, $ 3.00 for diesel in michigan. Takes a long time to make up the difference.

Your diesel really breaks in about 5000 miles. Ive gotten 23mpg on the highway easy.
