Are you looking at an insert, or an overlay?

I'll probably leave the silver truck alone. But the black one needs something different.

Still looking for something besides a LTZ or High Country grille though.

Insert or overlay whatever looks best.

Past experience with both is, overlay never want to fit all that well, and you have to cut your grill to put the inserts in (cleaner look), but you grill is now chopped up. Either way you go, you will still be using your factory grill as the "frame". Have you been able to find the mesh in a black, or black chrome?

Yes they have plenty of those available , but I hate black anything except for the truck itself. Black wheels especially. Yuck.

I had a nice billet overlay on my 2003 Duramax but it had a frame around it . No loose ends that get bent. The overlays I see for these trucks look pretty cheap if you ask me

I'm not afaid to spend a grand or more on a nice looking grille either just no black or black chrome.

T Rex has some good looking stuff .

I'm in no hurry though I'll look around.

BTW guys I'm 56 and I'm old school so I just don't get the black murdered out look never will

I agree with the monochromatic look, but I think contrast between black and chrome is a great look. It would be a LOT of chrome on the front of your truck if you go with any chrome insert. Here is a picture of the 16 I had:

Bet you like the stupid light bar though. That's lame  .

Let's see your grille

I think they both look balanced right now chrome wise, well you could add chrome strips on the side window molding.

If you had color matched front ends then I think you could get away with one.

You are probably right . The silver one I'm leaving alone.

I just think the black and chrome  together is pretty cool. I'll look for something that isn't all chrome.

No, it would look better without the light bar but I still wouldn't like it.

My grill is a stock 2018 LT Z71 in Ocean Blue (so painted blue grill). I just swapped the gold bowtie for a black one.

I don't mind the regular LT grill, I just prefer painted over chrome.  I also feel billet looking good ended with the 99 trucks.  The 99-02s look ok with it, put pre 99 looked the best.

Pretty sure every newer truck that I’ve seen with a billet grill also had stick-on chrome side vents...

Just sayin

Billet is definitely not for me, but if it's something you want you should do it. Your truck to do as you please. Again, just not for me. Neither is the mesh.
