I just wanted to let everyone know that's this is gonna be the 1st recall on this shitty Silverados. Mine is braking instantly while running!!! Barely had this truck for 1 month and I already regret it :( That parking brake turning on by itself was happening since the beginning.  I just went to another webpage of complaints on this pickups and it turns out same thing happened to another gentleman and turns out his TCCM was defective.  The definition apparently of that is the Transmission Module of these Silverados.... he had to go return his pickup and have that module replaced

Yep, probably correct. Being it's with the brakes and a safety issue, it now becomes a recall instead of a service bulletin.  Haven't had it happen on mine yet (thank goodness) and I'm 3 mos. in my RST.

mine does this also at times...the fan speed and radio volume also seems to have a mind of it's own!

Dump the truck fast, when all these issues get out, your value will be nothing.

Why are you still here since you say you dumped your Chevy? Is it just to bash Chevy trucks? Go out and drive your perfect Raptor if you even bought one.

Make sure you post any issues you are having with the Raptor on here, oh that's right we wont hear anything about that.

GM’s third-quarter vehicle sales volume dropped by 14.7 percent from the previous year, the company said. Sales fell across every region and every brand, with Cadillac seeing the smallest decline in sales among its marquee brands, 3.9 percent, from the previous year.

yes, just here to bash Chevy and help some of the people who made the same mistake I did. I should have never bought a brand that can’t out sell a fiat truck. So, go back to your cry room snow flakes.

Really.

Snow flakes Chevy sad.

You are in that category because you are in the same boat it seems that bought a new series truck and then whine about it.

You owners of the new design 2019's are the test crowd.

Sorry but that's the truth IMO.

Nobody likes a smart a$$, especially one that rags on a product they own.

Dude really??? Have you been on the other truck forums especially RAM??? They are having many serious issues. All are for that fact. Glad I'm not having the problems other brands are. As for GM, my emergency brake doesn't come on, rear slider window doesn't leak, drivetrain doesn't clunk but, I hate it for those that have these problems and hope they get it sorted out.

GM had a very late start on selling the 19's compared to other brands and was a contributing factor on 1st qtr. sales vs. RAM. Ford sells one truck, RAM sells one truck but GM sells two. Combine GM's Silverado/Sierra sales and that puts the goat where? Where it's always been.  Ford has out sold Silverado for many years (even though combining Silverado/Sierra trucks GM was the leader for the majority of those years) but doesn't make Ford the superior truck does it?  Is your Silverado a lemon?  If so, take a loss, trade it in on a goat then come back and cry us. Terrible bud...

I don’t disagree with you. The point is the early build trucks are a POS. GM should fix the junk instead of cover up the problems with software and de-sensitizing systems suck as park assist, lane keep assist, pedestrian alert etc...FYI, when you trade, the dealer, no matter the brand, gets the service record. They see all the BS going on. They had all 5 of my visits and why. In four months, it was in the should 7 days!  And for the record, I really liked the Silverado, it’s a great start but GM is NOT fixing the electrical problems nor the programming.

I did sell it and bought a Raptor. All the systems work and of course all vehicles have there problems. Good luck, I’ll keep a tow rope ready for ya.

I have a 2019 LD and I always use my parking brake every time I park. I have noticed an issue where when I crank the truck my parking brake light on the dash is not illuminated. It always illuminates when I engage the parking brake, but probably 1/10 times when I crank up there is no brake light on dash. Because of this I drove a few miles the other day with it on and didn’t even get a warning chime!

Parking brake comes in for 3 reasons, all legit I think.. 1. Your holding down there brake when you turn off the truck (keyless). 2. Your in hitch view mode and shift into park.  3. You shake the shit out of the truck.. not sure about the last one but once I shook the truck (that was parked and off)  aggressively and I heard the brakes engage..

I just got my 2019 Crew RST in Novemeber.  My kids typically jump in the truck before my wife or I do.  3 times I was in the garage when it happened.  The kids opened the back doors to get in, closed the door.  I had to put something else in the back with them reopened the back door then closed it again.  Thats when I heard the parking brake actuator in-gauge. One time the truck was pulled in the garage, the other 2 times it was backed in so its not one door or the other.  truck was unlocked in the garage all three times.

Just today, my wife called me when she was driving my truck and told me the same thing happened to her.  She was putting groceries in the back floor and she heard something go off. She first opened the back door on one side before opening the drivers door.  Upon getting in the truck, she noticed the E brake was in gauged.

Hitch View : Assists while connecting to a trailer. Displays a zoomed-in view of the hitch to help align the vehicle’s hitch ball with the trailer coupler. Shifting into P (Park) while in this view will automatically engage the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB).

That explains it, I use hitch view to see when I'm into the garage far enough. I've been trying to figure out why the brake engages every time I park in the garage.

Anyone know how to manually override the parking brake?

Had the system fail this weekend to the on position. Had to disconnect the battery to reset the system and get it working again.

    • Correct.  2019-2021 model years are serviced by a different p/n.  19420611.  Recall 2021s use 19420611.   The recall engines 2022-2024 model years are serviced with 12740076.     The difference between 19420611 and 12740076 is GM changed injector size for 2022.  The injectors are smaller on 12740076 with smaller injector bores in the cylinder heads to match the smaller injectors.  So you can't install a 19420611 in a 2022-2024, and you can't install a 12740076 in a 2019-2021.     Both engines are the replacement engine p/ns that are in the L87 recall.  So both of these are the updated engines.     Here's a version of the L87 recall with the p/ns for all the parts needed.    RCRIT-25V274-7075.pdf   Note it shows 19420611 and 12740076 with an asterisk to a footnote "Use the VIN and the GM Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) to determine which part to order if two or more part numbers are listed for the same part, as it may vary by vehicle options."
    • Looking for advice from this group. Took my flawless 2020 6.2 TB to an unnamed shop for routine rear brakes and oil change. Tech forgot to put oil back in after the full service and needles to say, destroyed my engine.  It’s all on their shop video so they are responsible.   I had my Chevy dealer do the analysis and they confirmed its compromised and said engine replacement. The manager said they only get GM reman engines from GM with full 3 yr warranty and the one they would put in is not same as what’s they are swapping out on 21-25 for recall.    I am looking for advice why that would be a different engine because obviously I had the good 6.2 year and replacing it has my concerns with that recall for 21-15   Also what’s the pros and cons of accepting the engine swap vs telling the shop that bricked the truck to pay up so I buy a new truck. I’m concerned about stigma resale eventually if I just decide to get rid of it after the swap or other issues showing up after the swap out.
    • Just looked up my records.  I've never gone over 5000 miles between oil changes.  At 46K miles, I have 10 oil changes.  I hope that will help.  I also installed the disabler last year.  I've still had a few times when it didn't seem to engage (which I can tell because the start stop feature kicks in), but for the most part, I think it's working.  For some reason, GM did not include the number of cylinders running in the information screen like I had on other models.  In my Cadillac, it shows me when it's running on 4 cylinders on the fuel milage screen.  I can't find that on my '21 Denali.
    • you might read through the info on gmupfitter.com for your truck, to find a good power source.
    • Melling I believe is/was the OEM on the lifters who explored this problem some years ago. The white paper they generated on the topic indicated two items of note when I read it. 1.) They only fail on the switch. Prevent the switch, prevent the failure. 2.) The majority fail due to deposits messing up the timing of that switch. Anyway that's what I got from it.    Mine have always been active, 195K+ now, and my oil maintenance is surgically clean.    Of course this assumes good parts. That is no heat treat issue or machining flaws. I get comfortable that these issues are in the rearview mirror by about 30K. IMHO naturally.
