I was hunting in the cold and snow in Utah. I tried to back up on a hill put in reverse tires spun loud pop and grind and loud spinning noise. All 4 wheel drive lights went off had no 4 wheel drive. put in drive, loud pop grinding noise loud spinning noise, and transmission  would no longer engage. Slid down hill over small embankment stuck. transmission  would not engage no 4 wheel drive lights  Error message included service transmission, transmission Service   ESC reduced engine power, brakes, trailer. and others. A hunter offered to pull me out put in neutral. After pulling me about a bit transmission came back. I drove it a bit 4 wheel drive came back. I turned it off and back on all Error messages were gone and truck ran fine. I took to the shop and there are no codes in the history so dealership and Chevy will not look for anything that caused the problem.  They say sorry no codes no help. IS there no history on the computers also can someone tell me what to tell the dealership that could tell Chevy what could have caused the problems. I am scared to death now to take it back into the mountains.

my truck has had a cold start knock since new. Its now at the dealer for a misfire

I’m having very faint misfires under light acceleration when the engine is cold.

Have you gotten any resolution?

This could be dfm related.

Nah, it’s mainly noticed taking off in 1st and 2nd gear under light load. I think it’s a bad temp sensor or something but I’d think it would throw a code.

Has anyone had an issue with what smells like mold? Like a musty smell? U can like taste it on your tongue. I bought a brand new 2019 trailboss at the end of September. Since then I have been to the dealer 4 times about it. Doesn't even smell like a new car and it basically makes me have an allergic reaction like one would have to pollen etc. I Dont have any allergy's so its pretty weird. I filed a complaint with GM and we are on month #3 and no solution. I have been pushing for them to test the seats but they haven't. Its cloth interior. Obviously when i first brought it back the guy who sold it to me said it was the new car smell. he is also the one that told me to file the complaint with GM the 2nd week of having the truck. Anyone else experiencing this smell? I was so jacked up when I got it I didnt even realize the smell.

I bet you have the rear window water leak.  Might check that out in the post titled for it.

My new 2020 TB got hydrolocked driving in rain on a very wet road.  Design flaw for sure.  They wouldnt even cover with warranty because they said it was my fault!!

It's a TRAIL BOSS 4X4 and I was on a mountain road in the rain!  WTF.   I hear this is an issue with a lot of the 2020 vehicles.  I just got a lawyer.

dont buy this truck

Andy, I work for GM on the sales side. This is par for the course.

I also have a 17 ltz midnight crew cab and a 20 custom trail boss

The trail boss I picked up yesterday, so far so good.

The LTZ, inside of 35k miles has needed, tires, a battery, multiple adjustments to the leaf spring "area" because of a clunking and lots of gas (6.2). I also cut a turn too tight and hit someones f350 on the wheel well - ouch.... anyway

I drive on the beach alot to go fishing here on Long Island, and I air down normally to 20 or 18 unless its really sugar sand hot summer situation.

Last summer dead of night im rolling along and the truck starts spitting codes like you said above. I lose 4wd - luckily the locking rear diff and the aired down tires allow me to cruise for a bit to find a firm spot to stop - Almost every light was on but I was rolling - found a flat spot to stop on. I adjusted the gauge cluster to show me the 4wd screen and it showed I was in 4wd - so I tapped the gas a little and I was back in 4.

Got off the beach - it wouldnt come out of 4wd. SO I turned down the closest block after beach exit and fiddled with the rotating dial - service 4wd - . I shut the truck off and started and all seemed normal. Guys at my shop couldnt see anything.

Battery died on me at 30k miles for no apparent reason. Stuck me with my infant at home depot.

    • Breaking News!    I'm going to tell you that I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I told  you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm about to tell you on the other side of the break.  Then we're going to break. Then I'm not going to tell you what I told you I was going to tell you.  But I'll tell you something else that is Breaking News just coming to the desk that everyone reported on yesterday.  Then I'll tease a human interest telling I'll get to on the other side of a larger break. Then I'll tell you one item in 20 seconds and go back to an even longer break. Longest break of the night.  Then I'll tell you a fluff piece that takes 10 seconds and sign off into a three minute break while you wait for the next 30 minutes of rinse and repeat on the local news.    In al you'll get about 12 minutes of something, 5 minutes of which is worth hearing in a 30 minute show and 18 minutes of advertising at a sound level twice as loud as the news.    Of course you can switch to cable news and hear 12 different people tell the same four stories in much the same format as the Network News for 20 hours of which the majority will be advertising.  And four hours of late night Specials about things you wonder why you stayed up to listen to. Half of which will be repeats.....   OR you can go for a drive
    • Did you ever figure this out? My 2022 Trail Boss, and now my 2026 LT did this from time to time.  I believe it was more connected to Android Auto and my phone being the cause. Maybe try going for a drive, sans cell phone.... and see if it happens?
    • I have a 2026 Silverado LT, the non bose as well.  Upgrading the door speakers is pretty straightforward. You could honestly go to walmart, or Auto Zone/ O Reilly and get a set of 6x9s for the front, and 6.5s for the rear. You do also have to get some adapters for each, but they are like $10 a pair on Amazon. Then some plug and play harnesses that are about $10 a pair on Amazon as well.  And I would also suggest a 10 pack of the Amazon Basics sound deadening. Slap that all around the speakers and on the open metal of the inside of the door. And your golden.   I am currently doing this with my Silverado. Although I am having a bit of trouble because I am snooby I guess and bought some Alpine S2 S69c's which are 2 way components and I am having to wire from the door up to the dash....  Having never installed speakers before, its taking me just a bit to get everything correct. But if you dont buy expensive component speakers, and just some $40-$50 door speakers. You will DRASTICALLY improve the sound over these stock paper cone junk speakers. I thought my Silverado had an issue with the radio/ sound for a while.  Come to find out.  The stock speakers are just THAT SH*TTY   I cannot wait to have some decent sound in the truck   What did you end up doing?
    • Its all automatic based on yaw sensor data.  If enough incline is detected, it engages.   My recommendation though would be to disengage it before driving off and not let it auto disengage by touching the gas pedal.  The HD trucks use the same setup as prior years, the drum in hat park brake.  But now with an electric actuator.  If you drive off repeatedly over time, it can torque the park brake shoes and can also prematurely wear them out.           Electric console shift will set the park brake on flat ground too.  Pretty sure they've got it programmed to activate every time.
