Be honest, how high was the water you were driving through?

it was pretty wet, I would say 5-7 inches in some parts. It was also pretty muddy with run off form mountains.  I am finding out that the air intake is different on 2020 than the 2019.  I have heard of at least 4 other simaler issues in southern california.

I have a problem with random dents forming on the front quarter panels and also on the hood,  like it is warping.  I also just hit 10K on my LT Trail Boss and the check engine light came on, and also the tail gate sticks every time I release it.  I have had some hard shifting occasionally but that is not so noticeable as of a while now.  Anyone else having issues like this on there 2019 LT Trail Boss?

Haven’t had any trouble lights come on but had trouble with the touch screen freezing and going black. Took dealership 4 attempts of fixing issue before finally putting a new touch screen in it. Mine is also losing antifreeze out of the hose that connects to the reservoir   They replaced the clamp but it still does it. Like there’s a lot of pressure building up and relieving through hose connection.

There should be pressure. That's not an overflow reservoir like in many older cars.......it is essentially the upper tank of the radiator and that is the radiator pressure cap on the top (that's why it is screw-on & marked 20 psi) with high pressure hoses (one in and one out) and contains coolant under pressure which circulates through the plastic see through tank.

Dealer needs to replace the high pressure radiator hose and clamp leading to the tank.

I had the same issue today with the parking brake light coming on and then engine light as well with a rough idle . Brought it to the dealer and they said spark plug wire was loose and now it’s OK they say. Truck only has 62 miles on it. Hoping they’re not full of crap

I'm having the same issue. How is your truck now?

Glad to hear that, I did pull the trigger on the 2020 LTZ and just clicked over 3K miles yesterday!

My slip yoke or rear end clunk when I come to a stop was officially deemed “normal” today at the dealership. They resisted so hard that they even handed me a TSB written for idiots who don’t know rear wheel drive drivetrains can make some clunking going into gear. That’s not my problem and I was not happy.

The issue of the engine cutting out when cold will have to be dealt with separately.

I don’t own cars long, so whatever, but I wish I could love this truck. I just don’t. It has significant drivetrain problems and GM seems to be perfectly fine with that. Sad.

I may just break down and finally buy an ugly 4Runner.

Apparently, the issue has been passed down to the 2020 model as well. Just happened to me, 4800 miles, stranded at Home Depot. Battery shows 5 volts. Hooked up a jumper box, it came up to 13.1 volts. The truck started but was powered down and sounded like crap. Had it towed (flat bed) to the dealer. It started right up on arrival. I videoed the shenanigans from the get go, so I’m in a loaner now. We’ll see what happens.

The grass isn't necessarily greener over there. My co-worker's <1 week old $50k 4-Runner has a leaky window. I heard him today on hold for 20 minutes with the dealer before someone from service  picked up the phone.

True, but we’re talking about a window versus the engine and drivetrain not working correctly. I’ll take the window over this crap.

I decided to downsize back to a car because of finance changes due to the pandemic and because I couldn’t fall in love with a vehicle that the dealer refused to care for.

If I were to buy another truck I would probably lean towards another Chevy, but I would pay a lot more attention to how it runs cold and listen for clunking in the rear end. I do hope they restrain themselves and offer basic trim for people who use trucks as trucks.

I’m not your typical forum “I sold my truck because it’s sucks” guy. The Silverado can be the best truck on the road and I think people who don’t have the problems mine had have the best trucks that you can buy for the money in the USA.

Cheers guys. I will be lurking and watching how the Silverado develops. When I recover from the financial shock of the pandemic I hope to have the cash to buy another Silverado.
