Bed misaligned

Had my 19 Silverado about three days before I realized... my bed sits about 1/2-3/4” further to the driver side than the passenger side.   I’d noticed I was getting crap fuel economy on the

Maybe the bed is correct and the cab is offset on it's mounts...

I measured the gap from the cab to the bed. right near the read door. One side is maybe 1/8 on an inch closer. you cant tell just by looking. I'm sure none of them are spot on but 3/4 seems like a lot

So who all has had the repair done according to the TSB? Purchased a 2020 Silverado 2 weeks ago and was wondering why things looked off in the drivers side mirror. Lines don’t match up and if I stand behind the truck, the drivers side rear wheel sits in the fender well further than the passengers side rear does. When measuring, drivers side of bed appears to be about 3/4” higher than passengers side. 
 

Took it to dealer this morning and have appt for next week. Also called the dealers body shop, they told me to bring it by and let them look at it. I feel more comfortable with the body shop working on it rather than someone in the service dept.

I'm halfway through my TSB repair.  They adjusted the bed left-to-right already but had to SPAC order a left, rear cab mount (GM calls it a "cushion").  They called me last week letting me know it was in, but I haven't had a chance to get the truck back to them yet.  I'll report the results when I do.

Was your bed just off center or higher on one side? Mine is shifted more towards the passenger side and higher on the drivers side. With it being higher, it makes it look weird when you look down the side of the truck cause the drivers side rear tire is sitting more under the fender well. Hopefully once they adjust the bed it will make the drivers side sit where it is suppose to. Drives me crazy every time I look in the side mirror and can see that the “line” on the cab and bed don’t line up. 
 

You said they had to order a “cushion” for the cab. So did they adjust your cab or the bed?

They shifted the bed right-to-left slightly to line it up with the cab.  However, the driver's side cab body line is lower than the bed body line.  So they have to replace that sagging left, rear cab body mount to bring it back up into alignment.

Is there a difference in the way your rear wheels sit under the fender? With my bed being misaligned and higher on drivers side, my drivers side rear wheel sits further under the fender well. So when they shift my bed to the drivers side to line it up with the cab, it is gonna make the wheels worse. Not sure what their plan of action is, but it is irritating driving a truck with 1200 miles on it and every time I look in the mirror I see the crooked bed.

Please let us know the solution to your truck when fixed. I have the same issue with my 2020 Sierra Denali and it’s driving me crazy.

Dropped my 2020 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab at the dealership this morning. Picked it up late afternoon and bed was aligned with the cab. However, the body line on the drivers side bed is slightly higher than the body line on the cab. Service department recommended me run it by the body shop and see what they think is wrong with it. Before I left the dealer I looked at approximately 10 2020 Silverado Crew Cabs On the lot, and they all were out of alignment. 
 

Just take the TSB listed in previous post with you. I looked under the bed when I got home and all they did was remove the alignment pin on the front right corner of the bed so they could slide the bed. 
 

In reference to my previous comment about the wheels sticking out different, they said that was due to the axle placement in the rear and there wasn’t really anything that could be done cause there are alignment slots in the leaf springs/axle where the bracket attaches. With my measurements, the passenger side rear tire sticks out 1/4” - 3/8” further than drivers. Thinking about putting a 1/4” - 3/8” wheel spacer on drivers side rear to fix that problem.

lapoolboy or anyone else, did the you ever get your bed aligned properly.  I had the side to side TSB performed for side to side alignment but the bed height is still off, more so on the driver side.  I need to go back to the dealer but wondering if anyone had any luck and what was done.

My truck is the exact same way!  Look at the weld points where the bed is attached.  Where the front panel is spot welded to the side panels.  My drivers side is attached higher than the passenger side. look at the front bed panel, up high where the spot welds  are and compare side to side.

Dang, just looked at my 21. Bed is off 3/8ths" to the left. Looking at the above posted tsb, looks like I can move it faster than taking it to town and have the dealer do it.

 

Never noticed it till I looked for it. Now I see it 20 foot away.

 

ETA...atleast the panels are the same heighth!

      BAK MX4 EZ-Lift Install and Review

      I've been eyeing an upgrade to my tonneau cover for a bit now.  Intrigued by the BAK MX4 EZ-Lift with the torsion spring and went for the upgrade.  Thoughts and musings during unpacking, install and a few days of usage.   Once my order went into Realtruck, it took about 4 days to ship.  Unfortunately, FedEx Ground destroyed the box and contents and it was unusable upon receipt.  To Realtruck's credit, one email with pictures and an RMA was sent to me to send the first one back, and another unit was shipped out.  It arrived 3 days later, unscathed.   I opened the box and it looked like every other BAK MX4.   Biggest differences are the rails and retaining clamps, and of course the spring attached to the cover itself.     NOTE - if you are upgrading from a MX4 to the EZ-Lift, you will have to replace the rails.  The EZ-Lift rails have a notch cut in them to allow the new style retaining clamps to fit properly.  The new retaining clamps also have 2 knobs/carriage bolts and there are two tracks underneath the front panel. The strap clips are mildly different (more like the Undercover Flex clamps) in that the screws go in from the underside.  Personally I prefer these over the BAK clamps that use the nutserts that are a nuisance to install.  The remainder of the parts in the box (drain tubes, rail clamps, and bumper pads) are standard issue BAK.     I did not replace my front bed seal at the time because it seemed to be in decent shape.   BAK recommends shims on the GM trucks unless you place the clamps on the flanges about 1/3 of the way in from both the front and rear of the bed.  I shimmed the front and the middle, and initially placed the clamps equidistant.  This also turned out to be a mistake, because when I set the cover in place, the new style retaining clamps wouldn't clear the front clamp.   New style clamp inserted in the track:     And the issue which occurred because the front rail clamp was too far forward:     Once I removed the shim from the front of the bed, and slid the clamp back to the front flange, everything cleared fine.     The cover set on the rails without issue and I installed the strap clamps.  After I completed my adjustments, I pulled the pin to activate the torsion spring.  Mistake #3 on my part.  PULL THE PIN AS THE VERY VERY VERY LAST STEP!  The reason is, once you pull the pin, the torsion spring is activated.  If you have to loosen the front clamps and adjust the cover, the front panel will - by virtue of the spring, refuse to lay down.  The only way to get it to lay down so you can reinstall and tighten the clamps is to fully open the panel against the back of the cab, which will then allow the front panel of the cover to lay down and be tightened.  Not a big deal unless you haven't installed the foam pads yet (typically the last step) because minus the foam pads, you will need to place something between the frame of the cover and the back window so it doesn't get scratched.  The next time I install one I will install the foam pads before I pull the pin and activate the spring.   After using it for a few days:   The spring assist is great.  You literally can open it with one hand.  My shoulders aren't getting any younger and this was part of my motivation to swap out. The second panel latches and unlatches itself as you open and close the cover.  Neat in concept, however it took me a minute to get used to closing the cover and not hearing the "latching" sound that would tell me it was locked in place. The paddle handles are a huge upgrade and I wouldn't be surprised to see them become the standard across the Realtruck line.  They effectively eliminate the concern that a thief could coat hanger the cover open and get to the contents in the bed. I'm not sure why the very front panel on my cover has a different finish from the other 3 panels.  I have a request into Realtruck to find out if mine was not manufactured properly or if it was by design.   All in all I'm pleased.  Same level of protection, looks good, keeps stuff mostly dry (they all leak around the tailgate) and easy to install.

      Same here, first I bought a few filters to get me going right after I bought my truck to do some short distance initial oil changes, then realized I could buy a case lot for less as they drop the price if filters or trans oil etc is bought by the un opened case lot as well as the discount for buying the vehicle there. So I have filters for a while but its good to know going forward, knowing to expect it to be a different part number and looking filter at the dealer and not be confused over it and think they are handing me the wrong part.
