36” in past 2 days. 12F right now. Love the precip. Drove the 22’ TrailBoss 4 popper with turbo down mountain in 1’ of snow and drifting terribly at 0700 am. Drove back up at mountain at 5 pm in dark 2.5’ of snow calm but couldn’t see drifts very well. Luckily my pilot instincts kicked in and I blasted right through them. Hood deep. 2000’ climb up

mountain unplowed. Firestone Wintetforce LT 10 ply worn from a summer use and 4WD low with 720lbs of sand bags in aft of bed got us right up. My caretaker had her knee replaced and I’m not right ( as many of my friends know here) 🤠 had a rare early rescheduled VA appointment for back and hip surgery plans.
I have beat the living poop outta this truck and at 67,000 it didn’t met is down yesterday. Literally had to dig out snow to get into garage and home. LOVE IT. I FEEL ALIVE!!!

20 inches yesterday, 23 F high.  Had to repair JD 644K three times as it keeps blowing off coolant hoses. Changed a grader tire on a CAT 140M2 AWD in snow yesterday.

Had to call State Police to prep getting people in and out by SNOW CAT or Army National Guard Helo with a hoist and crewman and medic to hover since all 3 Helo pads have 5 ' snow on them.

Got county to run their grader up here to our comunity center so that helped a lot.

We finally got our F550 dually 4WD fire truck snow blade mounted so last night someone who ran two of his fingers into a snow blower got to go to ER 42 miles away.

Perfect storm but we are attacking it.  I am no longer doing any hands on repairs as carpel tunnel took out my wrists, cubital tunnel took out both elbows.

I just bought a 78' JEEP J20 and can't work on it.......64 years old sucks for me.

43 F here. Calm for now. Stary stary night. I couldn't figure out why so many lights could be seen in the country. Then I realized that the 6 to 8 foot wall of corn is down and the horizon is cleaned of obstruction. WOW! We drove 50 miles SW to get a spot in a graveyard dark enough. City lights even 20 miles away kill the vibe.

After a cold front came through last night with needed rain. I found I needed a light jacket for my morning walk. I was still able to able to wear my shorts. At 62 degrees it was chilly.

Getting our first cold Canadian air starting today. Lows around 12-15F. So far, moderate winds are keeping it civil. LOL.

    • I understand that. The price is what it is, though. The price is what oil costs today, where our choices have led us, where supply is, and where demand is, in the market that is. Speculation is for futures, what we think the price will be, but with incomplete information at the time the price is forecast. I know you know this, but you appear to be intent on making a secondary point here about what you think the market could or should be, if only other choices.   In 1975 it became illegal to export US Crude. I'm conflicted on what the best answer is. Free markets allow export in pursuit of profit. But there is also a lot to gain by producing and consuming our own oil here. How do you reconcile it?
    • That sir is a choice. And even if it were not for all the reasons stated, this disruption has zero to do with the reality of the actual logistics and everything to do with the greed of SPECULATION. Spot price is irrelevant to reality.
    • What I think you're saying is there is supply here at home, and in Venezuela, and we could ease pricing if only it were favorable to do so.   Well, yes?   But that's not the current market. Supply isn't what could someday exist, if only, it's what producers are willing to produce and sell at a certain price point.   The national price of single family homes would come way down if we'd just slap together a few million homes this summer.   RAM and GPUs would get a lot cheaper if we just set up some factories to produce a bunch more and stopped using it to build out AI data centers.
    • The turn signal/multifunction switch is faulty.  I've seen a few of these go bad at work.
    • I am experiecing the same issue, I have gone in the setting and disabled rain sensing function but I am still experiencing this. Whe i use my turn signal they will redomly turn on.
