For whatever reason services here are salting like it Donner Pass and we haven't had enough snow this season to cover the grass. We had a week of temps in the teens and strong winds. Then a three day warm up before plunging us into what is predicted to be our first single digit temperatures of the season (Day time high).

Finally getting some snow, not much so far. Snow is good for fire prevention when you live in the woods and have rentals rented by idiots. Like building a fire under a second story deck, happened a few years back, neighbor called the fire department.

Been cold though last few days.

We get same stuff here. VRBO and other rental services make us require a quick response Fire team.

So how can they require faster fire service than the numerous home owners?

Land Owners association covers 15,000 acres. We got 1/4 of this place burned to ground in Spring Fire in 2018 by a drunk A -hole that was illegally burning trash in high winds just on other side of our properties.
Our quick reaction volunteers engage until

county VFD shows or it’s overwhelming.

Clarification VRBO AIRBNB don’t demand the fire response team our LOA did because VFD can’t get here for 45 mins since we are remote.

I’m getting ready to experience snow in MacAlister first since 2001 when I was working in Ohio. I grew up in NJ so I’m no stranger. The cold is not my friend anymore and don’t experience it much where I live now. I’ve had all this week sub 30 degrees. Don’t like it don’t want to get used to it again. I think I’ll wait to spring before I come this way again. You’ll can have it. I have to start the van at 20 degrees this morning. Ahhhhhh.
