It’s almost here. 8-12 inches

You're expecting 8-12 inches? That's very unusual for Montgomery isn't it?

I understand Karnut, we love where we live. Not having to deal with weather because were retired so no commuting to work makes a difference.

Dressing appropriately makes a big difference.

During the summer I was enjoying the weather here in McAlester without sweating buckets like at my house. This is the time of the year up to June I enjoy the weather in Montgomery for the most part. There’s trade offs. I must admit I rather walked to my vehicle at 100 degrees than 20 degrees. Remote start and heated garage are a must here. I do have a dehumidifier in the part of the garage that houses my Acura. Here in McAlester their garage has some climate control. Yes I know we’re spoiled. But that’s what retirement is for.

Yes, I figured this out and didn't think this message sent.  Some magic seems to be happening between GM Forum and my computer lately.  Messages appear and disappear!  😉

Miserable day here, 12 degrees 20+ mph winds snowing. Plowed with the Ridge, very comfortable. Reason we bought it.

Just before it got nasty around 2 inches we’re coming back from breakfast. About 1 mile from the subdivision  where my brother in law lives. It’s quite hilly. If you’re an experienced snow driver you know how to deal. We’re coming back. Sure enough halfway up the hill a UPS truck is blocking the road. So after a minute I walk up to the truck. She opens the door. I asked could you just back up a little so we all can get by before the snow gets really bad and we’re all stuck. She says l can’t move I’m waiting for a tow. I said all you have to do is straighten the wheels a little and coast backwards. She says I might go down the grass. Well I said that’s worse case scenario but it’s a parking lot and not steep grade. You’ll have to go there anyway if you can’t even drive through this. She started to shut the door and I said you really need some training if you can’t get out of this situation. As I’m walking back to the van she straightened the wheels and coasted backwards and pulled into the parking lot.

Your BIL should already have been buying chains if he's going to live there. Then you're not at the mercy of anyone

Drove from Southern CO to Colorado Springs today for skin cancer treatment and inspection. 3-5 “ blowing snow ice gusts to 50 mph. Little Jeep did great. Never had to go into 4WD.
Traffic and Texans on I25 biggest threat. Chains inside Jeep.

I find it amusing when you mention Texans in such a condescending way at times. Maybe you’re not aware put in landmass unlike say Colorado. You have all kinds of climate and conditions and yes even snow and ice. A traveling Texan would need to be able all kinds of conditions and terrain. I dare say even more extreme than that small state you reside in.

Seriously! Have you seen Texas in snowstorms as a NJ transplant?
Don’t lecture my Grandaddy was born in Comanche County and family abounds there and Greenville Texas.
I speak as a family of natives who remember BLUE DOG SMART AND TOUGH TEXANS. Not the RED stupidity we see there now.

The only blue I see in Texas are the cities. Most people are abandoning the color Blue for the country where the color Red is abundant and thriving.  I guess you been asleep lately where Red is alive and waving.🥳

A couple of enterprising Teenagers knocked on the door asking if we wanted the driveway cleared. I’ve been pecking at it every hour. I laughed and said check back tomorrow when the storm has passed. If I get tired maybe we can talk. Not when it’s only halfway through.
