Maybe one of the most useful videos put on YouTube lately:

Comparing the Flowmaster 40 series, Magnaflow, Borla Pro XS, Borla Atak, Flowmaster Super 10, Flowmaster Outlaw, and straight pipe. Excellent video.

Which sounds the best, that is the question!?

All of these pretty much sound the same and not much difference than stock.  Wish they would have done this video with the resonators gone, I think we would have gotten alot more out of it.  I am leaning towards the Flowmaster super 44 and taking resonators out..    Would love to put some carbon fiber dual exhaust pipes out each side but having problems finding some and I am not paying $2200 for a Borla just to get the exhaust tips lol, sure wish they would sell them separately!

Agreed. They sound identical. I'll probably just straight pipe mine.  It's cheap and sounds great.

Currently saving for the flowmaster American thunder cat back. Can't wait to delete the bumper exhaust appliques. Originally I thought they were part of the exhaust not bolt on accents.

So for the guys replacing just mufflers, are you going with 3”? If I’m correct the stock piping is 2.75” od. I was thinking about buying a piece of 2.75” straight pipe and clamping it. If I don’t like it I’ll just replace with a muffler. Just wondering what size everyone is using? I did the $20 mod and I definitely want more. I love the sound of the straight pipe in that video and I also love the borla atak. Problem is I drive a lot on the highway so I really don’t want the drone and don’t know if the straight pipe resonates much on the highway or not. Basically looking for aggressive local but somewhat tame on the highway any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Just a thought. Having the muffler cut out and replaced with a straight pipe would be pretty cheap at most muffler shops. You could try it out and if you don’t like it, have a muffler welded in. Not much of a loss in money if you change it later and you get to try it out yourself.

That’s kinda the route I was thinking. I could buy the material and cut and clamp in a straight pipe for around $50 myself. I don’t know any muffler shops around me so I’m SOL with that. I work in a rough neighborhood in nyc so I know I could get it done cheap around there but I’m afraid it’ll be a hack job.

I straight piped my 2019 sierra at4 6.4l.  It does give it nice sound however the drone is pretty bad on the highway. That being said if you can live with that it's a cheap fix. I will be installing the borla xr 1 muffler.

is there any sound clips for the new 2.7 silverado with a muffler or exhaust

yes, it's on that same users channel. besides the turbo sounding nice and loud on a few mufflers, the only one that sounded good to me was the last magnaflow, everything else sounded ricer.

Any updated info on those just doing muffler swap, did you delete the flappers and if so is there drone? Im only wanting to change muffler to a non chambered magnaflow 12919, this is for a 2020 6.2, looking for more straight thru design muffler with deeper sound and no drone. Muffler delete in person to me sounds terrible, to loud and raspy plus ive been told it drones like crazy
