No Noticeable difference in MPG. I think the tire weight of the Non-LT tires help (11lbs per tire lighter then the LT's, unsprung mass is bad for MPG).

Nitto is the only MGF the has a Non-LT tires in this size and the make both the standard and the LT in the same size so you have to be very specific on what you order. I got them from Discount Tire.

Thanks for the advice on the tires. I’ve seen the non LT but as you said, not in this size.  How do you like the Bilsteins?

Cooper rugged treks come in non LT, eibach pro truck struts are an option comparable to bilsteins, very happy with mine, 2” in the front, 1” in the rear.

I wasn’t aware. What size Cooper Rugged Trek are you running? How’s your ride with the Eibach struts? I mainly on pavement but definitely some off-road. Mainly mud.

275/60/20. The eibach kit has lift springs instead of just adding more preload to stock springs. The ride with the eibach kit is much better in my opinion, no more “porpoising” after big bumps or pot holes, you do notice smaller bumps more at lower speeds though.

Lots of non LT in the stock size 275/60/20 (33" tall) its the 275/65/20 (34" tall) that no one makes in a non LT.

 

Im happy with the ride of the bilsteins, better than stock for sure. I looked into both the eibach and bilsteins. they actually list the same way. They both have adjustable lower spring perch positions to set the ride height. The Eibach's do come with new springs but both the stock and the eibach springs are liner rate springs so to me it was hard to justify the extra costs.

 

For the rear blocks I called a local suspension shop and they gave me a set of blocks from the previous gen truck, they had a pile of them laying around going to scrap. They are 1.2" cast iron. 5 mins in the sandblaster and some black paint and they looked liked new. OE Ubolts from 2018 truck fit perfect.

There seem to be very few choices in non LT bigger than 275 60 20. Nitto makes a 305 55 20 ridge grappler in non LT that weighs 4 more pounds than your 275 65 20 so I’m pondering the choices. Post some pics after you install your rear block, please. I have less than 1 inch of rake so if I raise the front 2 inches I’ll need to raise the rear also.

I looked at the 305/55R20 but they are the same height as stock @ 33". IMO the height is needed in these trucks more then the width. I also have the 2.7L so un-sprung weight was important to me to maintain fuel economy.

 

I will post the pics with the rear blocks installed when I get a chance. I Ive been sidelined with a shoulder injury so it might be a little while.

The weight of your tires is what got my attention to start with. I’m concerned about mpg but also I messed up the ride of my last truck with heavy ko2 tires and determined to not do that again.

That's a good looking setup. Exactly what I'm looking to do. What leveling kit did you use and did it perfectly level your truck? Did you have to use any wheel spacers to clear the tires? Any other pics would be great!

Recently picked up my new ‘22 AT4 and swapped out the Duratrac’s for 295/70R18 Ridge Grapplers. Kept the stock setup and surprisingly have no rubbing even at full lock.

All stock 22 refresh rst 6.2 liter, s&b cai, Gibson cat back exhaust, 15% ceramic wrap, 50% ceramic on windshield and sunroof,  275/60r20. Measures 1.5 inches of rake. Might go to 285/60r20 but that's it. No leveling kit needed. I tow a boat and trailer and the tongue weight levels truck out pretty good

I'm also thinking about running a 285/60-20 when my wheels get here.

 

I just have a stock AT4 at the moment, but will most likely level it at some point. 

 

Hoping the 285/60's won't rub too much

    • Question @diyer2 on this line if you please. Are you saying the shudder is the system turning on and off at the frequency of the shudder? Guess I'm asking if you are saying you have seen it do this with the bi-direction scan tool in graph mode? If so have you been able to discern the 'trigger'. Something is telling to cycle rapidly.    My truck just started doing this recently. 197K on the clock. My response has been M5 anything under 55 mph. I treat it like a lugging stick shift. Gear down and let it spin a bit. Engauge M5, then tow mode and then M6 lets the trans stay in 5th but the AFM is active. Smooth like Skippy.    My thought was that as a machine ages the friction gets lower and as the system is load based, the lower friction would allow it to turn on at ever lower rpm until it reaches the lugging point. And yes I am ignorant of any minimum rpm requirement for the system. If you know that would be useful information.    As you know I run a Scan-Gauge II which allows me to watch the On/Off of the signal to the VLOM. While in the shudder mode I'm not seeing is cycle at that frequency or at all for that matter outside the triggers @newdude posted a few years back. Now is it possible that the refresh rate isn't fast enough to catch it? Maybe. It is why I asked my first question about graphing and trigging parameter.     As we have observed from members here the failure point is all over the map miles wise as you note yourself in your opening post. That by itself begs a few questions like fellows that comment on these lifters failing even after the system has been disabled.     • UPDATE 2: Steering wheel control backlights and control of the cluster can supposedly be achieved by adding a wire to pin 20 of the cluster and tapping it to pin 2 of the main clock spring harness. I'm going to give it a shot - will update  
    • GM Global A pickups 2019-2022 can do OTA programming for the radio.  GM VIP (GM Global B) can do OTAs for almost every module on board.  So a 2022.5 and newer pickup can do OTAs for recalls like the 2.7 fuel flow recall.  EVs get OTAs that improve one pedal driving, radio issues, HVAC issues, updated battery management software, etc.     So age of the vehicle/what GM electrical platform its on will alter what amount of updates can be pushed on OTAs.  
    • Thank You.   So far my new ride is making me look like a genius for going with the 3.0L, as my first fuel refill occurred over three weeks from when I took delivery.  This engine combination is very amazing.  So far no issues and had not done a regen yet.
    • I am curious as to how much fluid you put back in the transmission ( assuming you had replaced the filter to compare to my findings ) and then went through the process of warming up the trans before pulling the check plug to drain out the excess and if you measured how much came back out.    I just found it surprising that some claimed a certain amount less fluid being put in and then draining some back out. The attitude of the truck as per if the surface is level and how the trucks stance is would make quite a difference since the check plug is right at the front of the transmission.
