Passenger Side Mirror

I noticed a connector like thing on the bottom of my passenger side view mirror but not on the dirvers side. Anyone know what it's for and why only the one side?

Temperature sensor.

I have been told (dealers)that the temp sensor is at the front of the grill. Are you 100% sure. You can easily test this by putting a cold pack on the "sensor" and wait to see if the temp decreases in the truck.

My guess would be blind spot sensor... but I'd call my local service dept. and have them confirm.

Yes, I am sure it’s the ambient temperature sensor. Please do put a cold pack on it and test it so you can see your dealer is wrong. I know it’s hard to believe.

It is in the front grille.........on the previous gen and probably on the carryover LDs, not on the new '19s.

No, it’s the ambient temp sensor. Same sensor they’ve used for 20 years.

The one in my 2019 RST is a lot less accurate than the one in my 2007 LT, that's for sure. Almost always about 7 degrees off, it seems.

That sensor is for the diesel engine. Those trucks have two sensors. One in the mirror and one behind the grill.
