Poor audio quality solution.

So forgive my ignorance, I am a little unknowledgeable with car audio.

We all know the sound quality is the shits in the new 19's - non bose system, especially coming from a '15 where the factory, non bose, sound was actually quite impressive.  I like pumping loud music while driving and the front door speakers really distort if the bass is above "2"

I have kicked around the idea of getting the Kicker combo that's offered from the dealer, but with parts and install, its running around $1000 for somewhat of an improvement.   I also have two 10's and two amps that I took out of another truck I had so i could utilize those and get some really great bass and pay for only the install of the amp(s).

Questions are:

Would just adding an amp and subs improve the sound all around for higher volume levels?  or

Would powering the factory door speakers to the amp increase the clarity for higher volume levels?

What exactly does the LLJ Customs loop  back harness do?  Is it necessary  for what I want to do?

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe. I doubt it.

You will probably blow the stock speakers.

Get a pro shop install, mid level quality to save a few bucks.

You're stuck in a catch 22. Adding a sub and one amp would increase bass levels. The problem you would run into is that the bass would drown out your mid and high levels. You could add the other amp, but as previously mentioned, you'll blow the factory speakers. What I would suggest, since you have two amps, is to replace the door speakers and put an amp on those speakers. They'll be able to handle the power, and you'll accomplish better sound.

Whether you have a non-bose or the Bose system,  I personally don't think would make a difference only because Bose doesn't share any specifications. So for all anyone knows, the bose speakers are just as good as non-Bose speakers.

Whats the difference between a Loop Back Harness and a  T-Harness ?

A loop back harness allows you to run the speaker outputs back from your amp to the front and rear speakers. The t harness just taps into your previous wiring to give you a line out for your amp. You would still have to run your own wires to the subs or speakers if you use a t harness.

I have a 4 channel amp that I'm thinking of throwing in to all my door speakers. A couple shops around here say its a decent improvement that helps break up the higher volume distortion.

I have overamped many speakers (100W RMS amp, 70W RMS speakers for example).  Assuming reasonable listening levels, It gives you some headroom for dynamic sections.  You just can't turn the volume up all the way as that's the only time you're going to exceed the speaker rating.

I know nothing about audio. So with your experience would that be something to do?

I added a single 12" shallow mount sub under the rear seat, 800w mono amp under the pass front seat, and adjustable gain control knob on the dash (right of the 12v outlet).  This allowed me to pull most of the bass out of the door speakers and raise the mids and highs.  Sound quality is clear and not distorted until you get to almost max volume.  Plus you can adjust your bass level to match what your music and mood is, or which kids are in the truck.  I had a local shop install it ($170.00). I used equipment I had from other builds, but i image you could be in a set up like this for under $700.

Did they use the plug and play harness or splice into somewhere?

There was no harness on my invoice, so I am going to say they spliced in.  I will say however, I have no issues with that.

While you could just amp your stock speakers, if I was going to the trouble of amplifying my door speakers, I would go ahead and just change out those speakers as well.

Is there a plug and play harness to add a sub? If so info please!!!  I changed all my door speakers like discussed in this thread, but lost a lot of bass.  The speakers are very crisp and clear but no bass, so a sub is my next step.
