Just took mine off in about 10 minutes without removing the bumper step. The key was using an air ratchet with 10mm socket. Has anyone sprayed there own with high temp gloss black paint? Im going to sandblast the chrome off first. Then I’m going to use Rustoleum high temp primer and then use Rustoleum high temp gloss black spray paint.

Pictures and steps?

Hard to get pictures of the 3 10mm bolts on top of the exhaust tips. I had to fish the air ratchet into the bumper from the back side to loosen two of the three bolts... but here’s how they came out. Sandblasted, 3 coats of high temp primer and 3 coats of high temp gloss black

I gotta do this but don't understand the part about "with trim tool" to remove the step bumper. I don't have a trim tool. How exactly is it used and can I use some other tool?

If I remember correctly, you use the trim tool to push down (possibly up) on the three tabs to release it from the footwell. But I think it’s down that I did.

Does it require the special trim tool? If not how does one get these tabs free?

Nothing special, just go onto Amazon and look up trim removal kit, they're under $10

You can use a very small flathead screwdriver too

How much are you guys getting charged to powder coat the tips?  I was going to buy a powder coated set from eBay, but figured it’ll be less expensive to find my own local powder coater -
