Exhaust tip removal DIY

How much are you guys getting charged to powder coat the tips?  I was going to buy a powder coated set from eBay, but figured it’ll be less expensive to find my own local powder coater - 

I bought mine off eBay from the seller on here for $150. They’re $200 now. I’ll be cerakoting my old set to sell probably and try to break even.

So what's the verdict guys, do you need to powder coating or is plastidip holding up fine since it's just tips? I really dread taking those off... haha.

OP stated before that his plastidip bubbled up and peeled off. You’ll need something more permanent. And no on white

I wouldn’t do white especially with the black residue that comes out of the tailpipe. Removing them really isn’t bad. Even my 10 yr old son helped quite a bit

You are not kidding , that looks great . I went ahead and ordered matte from Official Powder Coating .

I don’t think it is. One of the earlier post says he took his off and planned to go to a local powder coater.

I have a Red Hot Trail Boss.  I was thinking of making my exhaust tips red.  Just not sure if it would look too overdone.  Anyone seen anything like this?  Pictures?
