Time for tires - Need Opinions

Factory tires have finally bit the dust and I'm on the fence for the next tire.  I have gone back and forth for a week now and can't seem to find a good answer on the forums or get a solid answer from people I talk to.  I'll still be running the stock wheels at least for the life of these next tires.

2015 1500 LTZ

3.5" RC knuckle kit

Stock chrome 20x9 (I think the OS is 27mm)

Daily driver on North Atlanta highways

Tire sizes I'm considering.  I want to run the largest tire I can with none or minimal rubbing/trimming.

295/60/20 - 33.9x11.6

275/65/20 - 34.1x10.8

285/65/20 - 34.6x11.2 - This is the size I'm most leaning towards

295/65/20 - 35.1x11.6

Tires I'm considering:

Nitto Ridge Grapplers

Nitto Trail Grapplers

Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx

Falken Wildpeak A/T3

Mastercraft Courser MXT

Any thoughts or opinions would help a ton!

Thoughts on size to run?

I feel like the wildpeaks are going to be the best daily driver of all the tires I'm looking at.

The heavier the tire, the less MPG you'll get and the more strain that will be on the drivetrain.  The manufacturer of the lift should have a recommended tire size and/or max tire size to run with the lift.

285/55 and i’m aware of the concerns of a larger tire... I have a tuner to correct issues for larger sizes, AFM delete, speedo, etc but i get what you’re saying ... running a 285/55 is too small IMO and only slightly larger than the factory tires

Here is my 2 cents.

 BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2

Its my go to tire that I have used for years and all my Chev trucks They come in all sizes, including the size you prefer.

Its a fantastic tire, great for on road and off road driving. Great off-road traction but not too rough for the street.

Also, for future consideration. When you change rims you may want to down size to a 18" rim. Your spare tire is on a 18" rim and 18" tires are cheaper than 20" tires. Plus its better for off-road driving (more tire, less rim).

I’ve run KO2’s on my 02’ and ‘98 and really liked them ... I honestly got tired of the look because of how long i’ve used them and everyone runs them.

I’ll definitely consider moving to 18’s after these tires.

I’m running 295/60/20’s with a plus 1 offset on a CST 4.5-5” lift, on 20x9 Fuels and Highly recommend Nitto Ridge Grapplers, they do not pick up little rock’s, tossing them all underneath and onto the truck body like the KO2’s. They have identical mpg’s and weigh about the same. Wear and tear seems to be extremely durable versus the KO2’s which seem a little soft on the side walls leaving curb rash. OffRoad, excellent driving through mud, sand and somewhat steep bayous.

Almost forgot, as with any E or F rated tires, you’ll definitely notice a difference going from stock to aftermarket. Aside of what I’ve mentioned, I love mine!

I have 275/65R20 Cooper STT Pros on factory snowflakes with a Bilstein 5100 front level (2nd highest setting). The side lugs just barely rubbed my front sway bar on the driver’s side when fully locked left. About a year after install, I had the front end re-aligned and it no longer rubs.

I’ve thought about going bigger but that gets really close to the bumper side of the front wheel well.

Go with the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I'm on my 2nd set and I love them. I had the Trail Grapplers before and they're great offroad, but too loud on the road.
