The led fancier truck style headlights with the drl have grown on me. So I'm going to do a change to the front end, I bought a set of led headlights, black grill and a wiring harness. Hopefully I can do this in about a week or so.

Mind sharing more info on the harness? Where did you source the lights?

Thanks!

Gen5diy.com for the harness. For the headlights and grill I used Ebay..made offers on em, if they didnt take my offer I moved on.

Nice truck. I like those headlights more then the custom ones but I prefer the custom grill without the bow tie. I wish we had some aftermarket options for headlights.

Agreed.  I have a Custom Trail Boss and I like the big CHEVROLET grill, but I like the look (and performance) of the LED headlights that I don't have.

It doesn't look like we could just use the LED headlights with the Custom grill though.

I need to get off of my butt and order the fog light retrofit from GM too, as I really feel that I need some extra lighting.

How difficult was the front end swap? Was everything pretty much plug and play?

Looks like a great mod that I'd be interested in.

Sorry I missed this.  It's all plug n play with the harness I posted above.

A few months ago I installed a gibson catback, it's already rusty brown and looks awful. Sounds fine just looks bad. So I put the stock exhaust back on with the muffler delete . Well that turned out bad too, honestly it sounded ok but start up and low speeds its sounds awful. Today I installed a borla s-type, fit and finish is perfect. Start up is loud but not as bad as the delete. The tone is really impressive and no drone whatsoever.  That's what I get I guess for not just doing it the 1st time.

So it was time for a few more small Mods, I did an airaid cold air tube with a green filter in the stock airbox. Jlt performance catch can, fit real nice. I chose the black version to fit in a little better. Lastly I did diode dynamics license plate and reverse led cool white bulbs. The trucks now all led and the lights are all nice and crisp. Yes under the hood is dirty, it's due forva good cleaning.

Readylift 2 inch level, 295 60 20 wildpeaks, painted mirror caps, stock led for lights, morimoto low beams and a tri fold toneau.20191226_192352.thumb.jpg.e7351502aef39606a6be3df353d7e01f.jpg

So did you replace the factory headlights with factory LED headlights and bulbs?

Edit, I see you did. Congrats on doing it right, though they look a little high as they are in the mirror of that taller jeep. So many people just throw in LED's in a reflector housing and blind everyone on the road it is annoying at best and just dangerous for certain people. One company I saw came out with a bulb that is close to acting like a factory halogen bulb and mostly gets rid of the blinding scatter, hopefully more follow suit but I don't have high hopes many will.

Nice job!

Since my trucks a custom it came with the halogen housings. That pic I did just the bulbs in the stock halogen housings. I used morimoto 2 stroke bulbs. They were really bright and as nice as stock led.

I did the light swap after that to what I have now only because I got a good geal on stock full led housings.  The led bulbs are actually for sale in the classifieds.
