2003 Chevy avalanche 1500 wheel drive interior rear view mirror

I have a 2003 Chevy avalanche the digital display quite working. I check all the wiring and fuses I do believe, and found no issues except now I can't get the mirror's electrical connect to seat all the way on the mirror's plug. It clicks but half of the connector is still up.  Has anyone else had this issue, if so how did you resolve it? Thanks
