What difference does China make right now?  We need to be worried about saving American lives not pointing fingers at China.

By mid-January we had it in this country.  It took two months from there before Trump took it seriously.  Our own American leadership is failing us when we need it most and you're worried about CHINA?  Please.  We need to stop trying to save face ourselves first.  Be part of the solution.

He took it seriously far sooner than anyone else. Much to the abuse of the media and the left. Make no mistake China new how bad it was. They disappeared several of their doctors trying to warn the world about it.

Exactly!  Don't turn the comment into something like that please.

California has a ton of folks and I understand being cautious, but we have and idea where the problems areas are and where they are going to be.  As a taxpayer in the state, I am not opposed to sending an overage of equipment and personnel to other areas of the country to help out.  We do this a lot in the state, fire fighting comes to mind.

New York Governor says "near or at the peak". Question Peak of what? New cases, deaths? 30K new cases just yesterday.  814 deaths yesterday!

New York State 122,031 cases, 4,159 dead, 10,478 recovered. ((4,159 + 10,478) / 122,031)) * 100 = 12% of the current cases have a final resolution.

((4,159 / 122,031) / 122,031)) * 100 = 3.4 MR. Just a few days ago this was just under 2%. A week ago under 1.2%.

What is not being understood is that as the resolution rate increases so does the mortality rate. There are only two resolutions. Life or Death.

Italy has the highest resolution rate of anyone whose numbers any MIGHT trust. A hair over 29%. A long way to go yet. They have currently 15,362 dead. Current mortality rate 12.3% and it has been climbing week over week even though new cases have been on the decline since 3/20/2020. They still have 88,274 person sick. Around 4,000 considered serious.

New York State has 2.5 times as many case as Italy and 1/3 the population. 60.48M v 19.54M. Read that back real slow then look at that Italian MR again. Look at the resolution numbers again. Go to The US COVID-19 Atlas and find New York State. As of 4/3/2020 they had 55,180 beds and 107,394 open cases. Yes not all need a bed and even fewer a vent. China just donated 1,100 vents to NYC.

So what PEAK is the Governor talking about?

Seems we have no shortage of people ignoring "Shelter in Place" orders. Some people just have to pee on the electric fence for themselves. Unbelievable part now is that this self indulgent action is forcing others to pee on the fence with them.

Surgeon General described the next few days as a 9/11 or Pearl Harbor event.  Not  a good comparison to me, but the difference is during those events the country was speaking and acting with one voice.  Not the case right now, each state for themselves.  If your state was late to the party...

I think he’s going by discharge rates versus intake rates. Seems it gets lost in all of this is the goal from the beginning. That was slow the rate so the hospitals could handle the sick. I don’t think anyone really believed that most people would avoid getting this bug. Maybe people now have been made aware that with this bug and other seasonal bugs. Better hygiene and awareness can save the lives of the weak among us.

I love how you find a cut and edited version from The Guardian. Yeah, they are super trust worthy. I just looked and I can’t even find 1 clip on you tube with Nancy Pelosi and other left media sources telling everybody not to worry. Oh, cause you tube won’t keep that kind of stuff up on there site cause they are lefty hippy crits. Nobody knew what was coming because we haven’t dealt with this before. Everyone’s wrong and everyone will see. The only facts are, this virus came from China, they hid it, the WHO is covering up for China and the most important fact is 700,000 jobless claims and rising. In a couple weeks when the money from the government checks is spent, your gonna start seeing the real issues when you can’t even go down the street without being robbed because of all the desperate hungry people. So keep your dirty politics for Facebook.

Sure, sure "there are fine people on both sides".  But there's only one guy in charge and it matters what he says the most.

It's not dirty politics, it's the responsibility of the position.  Take it or leave it.

Yes they did.  Valuable time allowing for proactive measures was lost.

Obviously it’s not up to Trump. If it was, there would be no shut down of anything. He would have let it run its course. The amount of dead people won’t equal what this has done to our economy. Besides, most people that are dying from this were gonna die soon anyways. Most people getting this are recovered or are recovering now.

    • No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.
    • Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.
    • I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?
    • Do you think this width might affect the chalk test with a higher pressure closer to 65psi? I think lowering the pressure makes sense to get the tread to lay flatter
