at 8000 lbs you are in 3/4 ton country.  That little baby duramax can do it, no doubt about it, but the chassis on that 1/2 ton cannot.  (safely)

10,445 miles. Purchased 1-29-20.  Back to the dealer 2 times - 1st was for the brake/remote app recall and the ECM & reducttant control module (3,765 miles); 2nd was for exhaust back pressure valve (3,870 miles). 2nd trip was during COVID-19 shut down so it was at the dealer for 6 weeks b/c they couldn't get a part.  GM revamped/updated the part so it has a new part # (code thrown was p2b97).

Did my first oil change (50% life) at 3,900 miles. Was down over a quart. Did the Blackstone Lab analysis. All good there!!

My only concern is oil use. Just did my 2nd oil change (10440 miles & 13% oil life). I added a quart at 50% life this time. Still down a quart at the change.

LOVE the MPG!!!!!  Totally rocks!  The 2010 5.3, 6spd trans I had got 12mpg in town/ 17mpg on hwy, I get 22-24mpg in town. Getting 27-28 at 75mph (no tonneau cover either). 60 - 65 mph seems to be the sweet spot for 29-30mpg on the hwy for me. I have not towed with it yet.

Although GM would call that consumption normal, I think I'd be somewhat concerned with that.  Curious if you have oil residue on the hot side intercooler hose at the connections.

As of 9/6 still waiting on the parts to fix my 3.0. It’s been in the shop for over 3 weeks now. I realize that it’s a new engine and shipping is a nightmare, so I’m not upset w that, it’s that the dealer and gm has had zero contact w me. I’ve had to initiate every conversation when I can actually get through to someone. It still doesn’t change my opinion of the truck it just makes me miss it more.  Plus there’s been numerous times I’ve needed a truck and the Buick Encore and Chevy trax they’ve given me for a loaner isn’t good for hauling much.

Purchased early January- 9200 miles now. Several trips back/forth from MN to WY.  Just got home from one of these round trips- averaged 26mpg at 80 mph.  When the interstate went down to 1 lane and 65 mph, we were getting over 31 mpg.  Overall the truck did great again. For the 1000 miles, the DEF dropped 2 bars but we weren’t towing anything.  What was most impressive was when we went offroad looking at some land.  Despite some gullies and hills, the truck did great handling it all and the ride stayed surprisingly smooth despite the rough lay of the land. We have a crew cab with the denali trim.  Still very happy overall.

Well it’s 9/11 and still no parts. I was told the parts distribution centers that’s holding everything up. It’s been in the shop 28 days now. I’ve had to call the dealer every time just to get some kind of half assed an answer. It’s really getting frustrating. Two more days and it’s in Ohio lemon law territory. I really don’t want to go down that road because it’s a giant pain and I’m by far not a litigious person, but man how long do I have to wait?

My son works for a company that has a contract with GM for service work on all types on new vehicles. My point is they are at the head of the parts supply chain and they can't get parts.

Bought 3 months ago and have 10,500 miles.  No recalls yet.  All works great.  The mpg you guys get must be with 3.23 gears.  I'm getting about 23-24 @ 75mph with 3.73 gears.  Z71, 4x4.

Purchased 5/3/20. Crew cab standard bed RST shadow gray metallic, 1808 lb payload.  Currently at ~16,500 miles. Average mpg at 65 is 30-34, at 75-80 is 27-29. Mixed Highway/city with 1000+lbs in bed is 23-25.
No recalls, ~6,000 miles per 5 gal def. One check engine light that went away by the time I got home, no saved codes I could see. Remote start was still working with check engine light on. Oil changes @ 1,000mi, 4,000mi, 9,000mi, & 14,000mi. Fuel filter changed @ 15,000 miles.
Slight exhaust rattle at idle & when coming to a stop, fixed with strap on exhaust isolators (annoyed the piss out of me but no time to leave at dealer for a couple weeks - work truck).

Hey guys, I just wanted to bring this thread back from the dead to give an update on my truck and hopefully see where everyone else is at!   Mine is at almost exactly 45,000 miles and I'm still completely in love!  My only real issues / complaints are that when I'm towing it drinks a ton of DEF, and if I take a lot of really short trips around town it will throw a CEL until it gets through a regen.   The only thing I've done, other than routine maintenance, is install an S&B intake and it made a huge difference in throttle response.  Thankfully, it's been a drama free ride to 45,000 and I hope it stays that way all the way to 300k!
