Okay, thank you for the reassurance again. I think I am going to get the lower thermostat... seems cheap enough and easy to install.

I am not seeing the NHT code. What does that indicate again?

Among other things; 'enhanced cooling' A larger radiator and additional transmission cooler area. Literally it means "Max trailering package.

Mines a 6 speed. I have heard of people installing those deeper pans. I think morosso makes one?   My grille doesn't have the shutters.

I installed a PML 8 quart pan on my 6L80E. Takes longer to heat and is quicker to cool but actual temperature lowering during steady state? I can't measure one.

Gotcha thank you. I know I have 3.42 gears, I know thats completely off topic lol

Is 9500 pounds really too much for these trucks?

Do you have the RPO code KNP?  As for 9500LBS?  ummm….that is 3/4 ton work I wouldn't be towing that more than a few blocks.  That is me though and many people don't listen to me so take that however you want.

The max towing weight for my 2016 crew cab is 9,500lbs and the truck itself is 5,500lbs, so yeah that's a lot to tow.

It's not that is can't do it because these trucks would pull 12,000lbs no problem, it's the other things to consider. Like cooling ability, diff gearing and of course trying to stop something that weighs nearly twice as much as the truck does.

Sorry, I worded that wrong.

Total WITH trailer is 9500 pounds. I was on a scale not long ago with my truck, my car and trailer and it read around 9500

Cooling, auxiliary external transmission oil cooler.

Mine has the code too, but if it has an external cooler it must be a thin rail. AFAIK the lines go to the cooler in the top half of the radiator.

If I don't trade the truck for an HD I'll likely add a fan supported B&M stacked plate supercooler or Derale cooler on the exit of the factory cooler loop. The factory one works great when the trucks hauling sailboat fuel with the trans thermo delete but hot AZ towing kicks it's ass.

My 2018 SLT crew cab 6.2L 4wd 6'6" standard bed Max Tow package weighs 5700lbs and is rated at 11,800lbs. Doubt I would ever want to tow that much. I regularly tow a 7x14 enclosed that weighs in at 3500lbs loaded. That is no problem at all. I'd be comfortable towing up to 7500 - 8000lbs with sway control and weight distribution hitch.
