Every vehicle I have owned, I have personally named it. I don't think it's pathetic at all. I don't know why you think that is pathetic. I could think of a hundred things more pathetic then taking personal interest into one's vehicle.  SMH

I since day one have always been a neat freak about my bedroom, toys, and when able to drive my cars. I can't stand having them look bad. I clean my truck at least 1 or 2 times a week. I LOVE MY TRUCK CLEAN,SPOTLESS, and FLAWLESS looking. That's just me, and if this was my truck, I would want it totaled or dump it because it would drive me crazy. That's how I was born, it's in my blood. To me that's not pathetic one bit.

I have to agree with both sides of this. A truck is more loyal and faithful than any woman will ever be, but at the end of the day it's still a truck. We don't discard our family members whenever they go to the hospital to be repaired. Why would you sell a truck that took a tough tumble, but will be okay? Is no different than a broken bone. In a few weeks it'll be fixed if it's treated right by the right people. If you were ever involved in the incident where your wife/girlfriend was injured, she'd have trouble trusting you again. Your truck will still want you to drive it, care for it, and spoil it. The 2 best things in a man's life are his dog and his truck. Women, arguably, come a distant 4th.

In all seriousness, I've been in a few wrecks in my life. All but one weren't my fault, and in all but the one case I was completely stopped (the one at fault case involves hitting a giant porcupine). In one of those cases I was actually asleep in bed while both mine and my wife's cars were hit. A good body shop will take care of your truck just fine. If you hadn't been privy to the info about the wreck your truck was in you wouldn't know what happened. Everything will be okay. Glad to hear it'll all buff out.

If it was me, I'd get it fixed, and keep driving it for just as long as I had planned to prior to the accident.  I'd do a little research on what options I have for additional compensation due to "diminished value."  Laws may vary by country / region.

They would buy me a new truck or I’d sue the heck out of someone. An accident is one thing but someone just passing out and hitting me like that is getting me a new truck. If this just happened I’d go to the Dr. as you took a hard hit. My work buddy was hit hard on interstate and though he was fine till the next day. He’s not fine, 3 weeks later he’s seeing specialist after specialist for his injuries. Good luck and sorry this happened.

Law and insurance is simply a means to bring you back whole. If your truck was wrecked on the dealerships lot between the time you signed the paper and get into the truck and put that first mile on it. Your not entitled to a brand new Truck. you are entitled to getting your Truck repaired to its original working order. Remember at any time anybody can make a mistake. If it were you who hit someone (for what ever reason) You and your insurance company would  would not have to give that person a BRAND NEW TRUCK. Only make them financially and physically whole...   

unless you have some type of extra GAP Insurance to pay for you to get a new car replacement ( I have it with State Farm for the first 4000 miles . you do not get a new truck unless you open your Purse 

Just think from  both sides. I have been on both.  

 

Ohh and yeah its just a Truck .  We use them until they wear out and buy new ones..

Glad to hear you are physically okay (mostly). I feel your pain about having such a new vehicle damaged and almost totaled. I feel the same about my vehicles, just never the same after a major accident. But these material things are eventually replaced, sometimes sooner, sometimes later. Your body on the other hand is going to be with you until the end. I would note every ache and pain and have it checked out thoroughly. I’d hire a lawyer to address every potential problem, such as future anticipated medical care, pain and suffering, lost wages, etc. And also diminished value of the vehicle.

UPDATE!!!! hi guys well my wreck was on October 29 th it is now March 31st 5 months later i just picked my truck up from the dealership that was doing the repair i got to say they did a good job looks good but it was raining and was outside when i went to look at it so i guess  i will get better look when i wash it but from what i could see you would never know it was wrecked. Between covid problems and i guess shortage and delays on parts it took  this long to get back and man after driving three different rental cars one was a Ram truck one a nissan armana and a jeep compass getting back behind the wheel of this chevy was so sweet i really did not realize why and how much i like chevy silverados and tahoes anyhow just wanted to give update now i am waiting to here from other guys insurance regarding diminished value oh also i did a survey for chevy last september or october and told them i had issues with how thin the paint is and rock chips happening way to easy and the defect i had in one door i had forgot all about it well they called me two weeks ago to discuss my issues after explaining  everything they gave me $500 dollars credit for accessories i thought that was cool since i had paid $800 to have two doors painted because of chips and yes it was passenger doors i had painted and driver side that was wrecked so now whole truck has been painted except passenger fender and passenger bedside WOW,,,,,,,,,,,
