OP, 2020 Trail Boss here. Built in June 2020. I have 14,****** miles. No engine issues at all. Best mpg I've seen is a follow:

25 miles = 33.1 mpg
50 miles = 23.9 mpg
400 miles = 20.1 mpg

I believe these numbers are a result of the drive down from the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Iirc, it's a long downhill road if you head towards Utah, and the speed limit is 50 or 55 mph. With the 10-speed these trucks will perform better than the EPA rates them at if you stay in the 55 mph range.

I've driven my truck from coast to coast, literally. I don't regret this purchase and would do it again.

It does is no good to know how fast over the speed limit you’re going. What’s the speed you are traveling? Here in Utah the speed limit is 80 mph so your mileage is going to be much different at 90-95 mph as opposed to somewhere that has a 60 mph speed limit and that person is running 70-75 mph. 
Truth! I was just in Utah last week. Drove from San Diego to Salt Lake City. Drove back the following weekend. I always set the cruise at 8 over the posted limit (number of times I've been pulled over at this speed = 0). I was not seeing 20mpg, up nor down. I did see 21-22 mpg at one point, but that was driving downhill from Heber via Provo Canyon. When I got to my hotel in West Valley (yeah, I took the long way) it was back down to 18 mpg average for the last 50 miles.

Speedlimit ranges between 55-70. I am rarely below 65 unless a truck is slowing me down. I believe the 20 mpg pic I was averaging about 72 mph until I stopped for fuel. I always use cruise and never hypermile. The route is 77 to 81 to 276. It's ~580 miles one way and I do that round-trip a week.  I'm not sure why anyone would expect a massive fullsize pickup to get 20mpg at 95 mph? There are quite a few sections of 81 where the speedlimit is 70 and I run 85. But I am far from a conservative driver.

 

Also, based on the nationwide general average between 65-75 mph I assumed that was helpful information.

Edit: average speed was 70ish for the 20.1 above southbound from Trenton to VA down 81. I left at 415 and stopped for gas at 1045. Hopefully that fully gives all the details. I'll allow whomever to determine the total altitude changes, since technically those are relevant too. I did stop at chickfila at some point during this trip so the average is a little skewed, but that should give a close enough picture.

For those getting 20mpg, are you guys/gals driving super conservative/all highway?

I'm at about 13mpg mixed. 18mpg running cruise control on the highway...trying really really hard.

Mine is an unmodified high country with a tonneau cover. I haven't looked at the build date, but I assume fairly recent given the turnover at the dealer I bought from.

Thanks for the feedback. Lol, I'm under no illusions that it's my driving. I drive a tad bit aggressively 🤏 and have no plans to stop haha.

The 6.2 is fun to drive. I was just trying to say that even when I try, I don't get mpg that high. [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

How did this turn in to a MPG thread when the OP asked  "Miles on your 6.2", not many many MPG's you're getting?

Well if we want to get technical, OP asked specifically about 2020+ trucks produced within the time window of valve spring failures. MPG’s aside, most who responded are not within that build window either.

    • With large equipment or deep mud it is more of a use the higher gear to avoid spinning tires, getting stuck because of spinning tires and doing damage to your machine. The idea is if you run out of torque before you spin tires you can still downshift for more torque. If you are just spinning your tires in the lowest available gear you are stuck and things break.   Automatic transmissions, traction control and electronic transfer cases change the calculation a little as you the driver have less control over each piece. 
    • are there any codes? with lots of rust, perhaps disconnect/clean both sides of the connection/examine cable ends (the wires) for corrosion going into the sheath & replace if necessary/reconnect ALL the power AND ground cables between the battery, engine, frame, cab, fuse box and starter charm.li (website) has a no-start diagnostic procedure you can work through to get it working.
    • Its no wonder you've gravitated to the oil types and brands you have in later years after trying certain brands and one being a specialty oil or at least very hard to come by up here and the other would have been a commonly found oil of the era and the vastly different outcomes as a result to using the vehicles in question the same distance for an OCI . It shows what marketing hype can do without actually having the product to back up the claims and that is no different now with the insane claims that are written on the side of a bottle of oil from some of the off the shelf oils.    What has surprised me and I was already finding this out before I bought my truck with the GDI engine, that this newer fancy technology that seemingly would suggest better fuel economy/emissions with this high pressure spray of fuel is not in reality kind at all to the engine or at least the oils life. Yet they insist on claiming long OCI with this technology just like they did with the port or similar type fuel injection systems when in reality its a step back in oil life to have a GDI system.    I think the mistake your making Grumpy is that your not sending your samples to Blackstone and getting the feel good glowing report that you can run it another 1000 or more miles and then send another sample where they say run it yet another 1000 miles and on and on it goes until your sending in something that looks a lot like road tar and then they may suggest you change your oil within the next 1000 miles 😆
    • I am guessing that engines of that design back then had a better ability to be abused and survive longer than a new design engine with the long timing chain and the overhead cams and phasers etc. But I would never guess that an engine could go that far and not fail spectacularly or at least die a slow death. 
    • In the 80's 90's I'd run Honda's 7,500 miles between changes using Red Line HP 5W20 and do it for hundreds of thousands of miles with issues. Back in the day it was an SAE 20 with the HTHS of a SAE 30 and SN add load. It was also very polar. Oxidation VOA was over 120. Besides those motors were SPFI and lean burn tech. I could have likely run it longer but never did.    We had a Toyota bought new I ran on Pennzoil's latest and greatest synthetic of the day with "Penthane". A made up word for a very low dose of PAO. Tried 7,500 mile OCI's in that Group III/VI chemistry and the rings tapped out at 90K. Rocker box wasn't as bad as the one Punch put up but it wasn't good either. Also a SPFI motor.    I'm around 3,750 across the board on these GDI monsters and the oil it tapped out by then usually on TBN/TAN crossover and color. Red Line HP Euro.    The AMSOIL SS brochures tell you to follow the OEM values for the service class but that it can be run up to 25K if monitored. I can't imagine what motor could go that distance and not tap out. I've never owned one.    Yes, I know. Lot's of people do. I'm just not going to be one of them.
