Dear All,

I've changed the original belt driven radiator cooling fan in my GMC Sierra 2004 to an electrical driven type and want to know what is the best alternator to install to overcome the amp loss without adding/modifying alt. bracket/holder or wiring connections please?

I think a 145 will replace the 105 amp, same bolt pattern pully etc.

Thank you Sharpz for the information. Any part number or recommended suppliers to purchase please as I have to do overseas order.

Hi Sharpz,

I've changed the alternator as informed and worked fine. thank you

I also added 2 nos. of temp controller connected to each fans relays to adjust the required on-off rating for fans and going fine with me now.

Hi All,

I have connected the 42 pin which is for low speed fan, where is the connection for the fat speed fan? some of wiring diagram shows pin 33, but it is not the one in 2004 GMC. Do I need to connect the fast speed fan relay wire to AC clutch wire?

The community can read this, but as the post originally was about an upsized Alternator that would not know you are asking about how to hook your fans.
