GN2018 Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 I got a message today on my info screen that the truck has an update. I’ve never had this before. Is this common? Are there any pitfalls I need to be aware of? I’m just thinking how often updating my phone or computer causes problems that I really don’t want to deal with. I really don’t want to deal with it with my main mode of transportation.
Rob Mugs Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Just get it done.. it'll be forced on you eventually 1
Adplusone Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Be sure you can leave the vehicle while the entire download happens....dont turn off or on unless instructed. As above, it will eventually force you...better to choose on your time where you can wait for it...also park outside so no issues with interference.
WeGone Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 I keep reading about these updates, I wonder what prompts them as not everyone is getting them? Mine is a 3/21/21 build with version 153.

GN2018 Posted September 11, 2021 Author Posted September 11, 2021 Figured out the update and went ahead and installed it. Now I have version V155.3.8.

WeGone Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 GM must be watching this site... Mine updated this AM LOL
tboat Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 I recommend you install the update. I noticed this morning that my radio wasn't shutting off when I opened the door. I immediately started checking for a software update. Sure enough it was out there. I downloaded the update and now the radio shuts off like it's supposed to do when the door is opened.
GN2018 Posted September 14, 2021 Author Posted September 14, 2021 Typical update. Since updating I’ve had two instances where Apple Play doesn’t work correctly. Had to use my phone to get Waze to work. After putting in a location, it has locked up. Needed to use phone to get out of Waze and back in to get it to work. Ugh.

V155 was supposed to correct Apple CarPlay issues. I have a ‘20 that CarPlay hasn’t been reliable since new. Chevy will not install the update for me so CarPlay is hit or miss for me. 1

I've gone to settings>update, but it says I am up to date even though I'm on version 153. Last weekend I took it in for the first oil change and asked that they update it. When I got it back it was not updated. The note on the service reports said it was already up to date??
