GM approved and sent dealership a check for the price increase. Hey Guy, can you let me know the process you took for this? I am currently in the same boat where my dealer is telling me I owe more because of the msrp increase. I have not took possession of it yet, so hopefully can get it figured out before I do!
Guy Horneker Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 (edited) It depends on if you had an early $100 reservation and when your order dates were placed and accepted and the build date. Edited June 7, 2022 by Guy Horneker
jjuddz Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Yes and yes. I ordered on 2/11 and the price was shown on the order form where it was listed as a SRE-Retail Sold.

If you put a deposit down on a truck, the price is set. Tell your dealer they are lying and threaten to call GM corporate to complain and I’m sure they will change their tune quick. GM sent emails out to all customers with a reservation and specifically told them their price is set
Guy Horneker Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 It also depends on the build date. The first increase was on or after 3/24/22
jjuddz Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Medic, I don’t think it’s the dealer. They are showing the new msrp for the truck from GM, and not the original msrp that was quoted. I mentioned that to the salesman and he is going to verify as well, but I don’t want to wait/count on him.
jjuddz Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Guy, why would it matter on the build date, when it was ordered and deposit paid on 2/11?
jjuddz Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Thanks for the info Guy! Now how does a person find their production date?
jjuddz Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 To me that’s still effed up to change the price on a buyer when they already put a deposit down and a price listed on the build sheet…I wouldn’t normally worry about it, but it’s $4k higher!
jjuddz Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Ok Guy, my TPW date was 5/9. So according to that article I should be good, right?
Medic4552 Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 (edited) The last sentence says to lock in your MSRP. Legally when you put a deposit down on a vehicle you enter a binding contract say I will put this money down to get this product. Any changes have to be agreed upon by both parties. Edited June 7, 2022 by Medic4552
edgart Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Your price is locked the day you ordered the vehicle from your dealer. Not the day you put the $100 deposit down from the GMC reservation website. Your dealer should have given you a receipt the day you ordered it that shows the price and everything you ordered. Make sure the date on that receipt is before the price increase took place.
jjuddz Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Ok, so I get everything y’all are saying, but since the dealer doesn’t know how to do that *cough *, how do I go through GM to get it changed?
chrisrokc Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 This is great information on the pricing. While I would have paid the increase since I am already so far down this road, it is good to know I am locked in at my order price back in January. Not my fault GM is taking forever to ship my produced order.
